Переглядів 470Рік тому
The Cereus Forbesii 'Spiralis' is a rare cultivar of the Cereus forbesii prized for it's spiral growth habit. When grown from seed, the Spiralis won't start twisting until it reaches a height of 3-4" tall. The Spiralis should be grown in a mix of direct and indirect sun and dry conditions. During the grow season, it should be watered thoroughly, when the soil is dry. During cold, winter months,...

I have not had good luck with Ivy. They all crinkly up and die...DEAD. There was an Ivy in my office that did very very well. I asked my coworker what she did to it. Of course she said nothing. It sat on her tall file cabinet about 50 feet from a long wall of windows. Not direct sun at all. " I throw water on it occasionally." she said. How often is occasionally. So I found an Ivy on sale, nice big full bushy. I brought it home put it in the kitchen window sitting on a swing my husband made suspended from the ceiling. It has a grow light for winter. It flourished into a huge plant. I have it now hanging, draped over the entire window. But wait......crunchy leaves are now taking over. I have pruned it once already but more crunchy leaves have appeared. I will do as you say here: take it down, look for bugs, look for black leaves, prune it way down then think about where the sun is best for it. Maybe bring it up here in my home office with other plants that are doing well. Maybe sit it on the same corner table about 4' from the sheer half curtained window. Many of my plants do better when I move them from one window to another. I would love to see a follow-up from this video to what your Ivy looks like now. Thanks for this topic. It was greatly needed.

Girl, Heaven knows they guided me to you! The winter proved detrimental to a lot of my plants. I brought them all in and did ok but this year it's been summer one day and then winter the next several times here in SC. One day I didn't watch the weather they said it was gonna be warmer weather for a few days so I figured it would be safe to leave them out overnight but that night it unexpectedly went below freezing. A lot of time, energy and money lost.

“Really really fine root system.” I have noticed that when transplanting, but I never thought that was part of the delicate care they need in terms of watering. Great video

HELP! I have a Swedish Ivy (aka dollar plant, whorled Plectranthus, creeping Charlie, Swedish Begonia.. that has shedding all it's leaves! Many have turned brown before falling, but there's also many green that fallen. Doesn't get direct sun, but it is summer so perhaps it's too hot? How can I tell if it's been overwatered or it needs more water?

Thanks for your advice! I've been looking everywhere but I haven't found clear information. A part of my Ivy died after a heatwave but I've been scared to prune it. I'm going to prune it a bit, propagate some roots and hopefully it will get better. Thanks again!

She really is very pretty. I messed up and hurt my ivy. I had an invasive surgery in October and my ivy that i bought on clearance, which was already suffering, suffered from being under watered for about 3 or 4 weeks, then I messed up and over watered it thinking it would help. 😔 Now I'm working on helping her.
