    I was at my middle school dance, and many people were in the lunchroom watching the game instead of wherever the dance was lol I just remember jumping and celebrating. It was awesome!!

    And after all that Jimmy randomly harasses the Ace at his day job and steals his bike and lobs it off a cliff for no reason

    • @v1e1r1g1e1

      Hardly ''no reason''. Jimmy saw his hero... the man who epitomised everything that stood for 'Mod'... in the cold, hard light of an ordinary day, and what he saw was beyond disappointment. Ace was all show; just another working man; and only a bell-boy at that! It broke Jimmy's last veil of illusions, and forced him to confront reality.

    Sting must have got some pretty good tips as a bell-boy, lugging their suitcases around.

      I got the impression he always was a bell boy and that the outing to Brighton was an escape from the hum-drum of real life for Ace as much as it was for Jimmy.

    • @99Boiko
      @99Boiko 5 років тому

      Nothing in the film suggests he BECAME a bell boy but was one in the first place. There's a moral there for the viewer. A job is a job, and provided you apply yourself as the Ace did but Jimmy didn't, there is nothing to stop you being sensible, saving cash, and becoming flash with great gear and equipment.

      @@99Boikohink that’s the wrong moral of the story. The Sting character was a faker/fantasist. Pretending to be wealthy and successful, when he was as poor as Jimmy, and probably still living with his parents. Sting convinced Jimmy that being a mod could take you places in life. When in fact, the only place it could take you was a dead end job. That’s why Jimmy is so angry. He had been fooled. And he destroyed Sting’s bike as a symbol that he was finished with the lifestyle
