Man, you guys were having some fun! I rode a CBR 600 (Smok'in Joe Camel) for 10 years. I sold it when I was 73. What made a Smok'in Joe Camel special? It was a replica of the bike Miguel Duhamel won the Daytona 200 on. It also had (exactly) 46 racing decals on it, a real head turner. I miss it. BTW, love those high speed wheelies.

You can ride the shit out of that bike. I love how its beat in like a favorite hat or pair of jeans. It reminds me of my carry piece, it lives in a sweatly leather holster, gets put up wet and dirty ever night, never gets cleaned, and works every time. Cheers

You shouldn't be teaching anyone the ropes whether it be lines, riding tips or road knowledge. You know crap. You don't have mirrors on your bike which is required in all states. You speed and cut across the centerline. Makes me wonder what else you choose not to respect.

What I don't understand about the whole thing is: There is a limit of 30 mph and you drive almost 60 mph, there is a recommendation of 15 mph in the curve and you drive through it at over 30 mph,? If you're surprised that there are crashes? Guys, it's a public road and not a race track. If you want to race, you should go to a closed route.

The Dragon is unforgiving and being that you've ridden it many times, YOU should have known better than to lead the pack. Just kick back, hang back and let others set the pace. That competition edge we all have can surely be bridled back knowing you have first timers with you, MAYBE? I am simply happy everyone walked away fairly unscathed. Life Lesson. Remember it.

The issue is the number of riders who pretend that they are riding the Isle of Man TT course. It's not even close. The Dragon is a twisty road, 318 turns in 11 miles, and has limited sight lines and steep dropoffs if you screw up. It's posted at 25 mph. Every year, riders test their mettle and quickly discover their limits. The Tree of Shame never goes wanting. For my skill level, the Dragon isn't a fun time; it's a lot of work. The Cherohala Skyway is a much better ride. That said, the Western Pennsylvania/Western Maryland/Northern West Virginia, and eastern Ohio roads are much closer, and more enjoyable. But that's just me. Ride safe, and remember that the motorcycle goes where you are looking.

Some Lead riders love showing off to new riders. Gassing out trying to show look how good I am. But ive seen it happen two times an this video makes three. Guy crashes because you didnt take it easy like said in the beginning. But it's natural to try to keep up. He should have engorged you. But I'm sure before the ride you said you would take it easy. Go find a race track. They have tighter turns, no head-on traffic that might drift into your lane, and no cliffs to ride off. That road should be ridden relaxed, enjoying the scenery and twists.

There is an old movie I really like "Gumball Rally" one of the drivers tears the review mirror off the windshield saying "what is behind me does not matter". The few seconds you take to look behind you are the few seconds you need to see the sand, grass, or car coming at you.
