@@penyu1913 we are talking about the name, not who has the legal property of the name. and yes his full name is kael'thas the same way nightsstalker's name is balanar wich is also the name of one of the 3 deamons that guided arthas to frozemourne and into becoming the lichking. we know that valve cant use thouse names legaly but the players use them anyway like we use furion, witch comes from malfurion to refer to ''natures prophet'' blizzard still ownes that name and valve doesnt use it officially but the players use it anyways.

@crystalgyt7174 i think it is an issue with voice line from warcraft 3 side. because even on other mods they call him kael (pronounced ki-yel) even though his name is different.

Last time I checked, his canonical name in Dota 2 is Carl. In OG DotA Invoker was named Kael, and the "Carl" joke was started from a mistranslation from some patch notes written in Chinese, which then IceFrog picked up and canonized as both a reference to that widespread meme and some clever means of avoiding copyright issues with Blizzard.

@@bayumahendra1797 i don't think so. dota is only a Mod of Warcraft 3. no copy right issues there. unless dota2 copied them. then that's an issue. as far as i know icefrog is still working with dota maps in warcraft
