Plastic is really an honorable part of medicine but it is scary with all those so called doctors taking short courses and then presenting themselves as a qualified Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. After watching "Exposing the Dark Underbelly of the Cosmetic Surgery Industry | 60 Minutes Australia", I am glad I that I am not addicted to cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. I am in my 70,s now but when I was a baby, I got sick and as a result I am 90% paralyzed on my left side. I had an operation on my leg but when it came to see what could be done on my hand, the orthopedic surgeon also referred me to plastic surgeon. I saw those two doctors for years, and the plastic surgeon operated on me twice and the orthopedic surgeon once. I am from Canada, and while I think that there are cosmetic procedures done, I do not think it happens all that much. The majority of times, your family doctor will refer you to the specialist you require, and I don't believe they are going to send you to a quack.

As a person who suffers from a body image disorder. I can tell you that I had no control of the mental patterns which led me to getting cosmetic plastic surgery, but I am trying my hardest to overcome it.

You are right. We should not get Plastic Surgery for purely aesthetic reasons. The risks outweighs the benefits. We should identify if we have a body image disorder and we should work through it in the diary. We should not listen to that nagging voice.

Even though you fought hard to keep textured implants on the market after there was a prevalence linked to textured for cancer of the immune system. Women should think long and hard the choice of breast implants themselves, and that thry are only a 10 year device. Also each subsequent exchange the complication rate increases exponentially. A woman intrested in breast implants must know her insurance may be denied should she get breast cancer, leaving her saddled with trying to figure out how to treat her cancer. (This is as of 2023) Another consideration is if their surgeon might be biased as a researcher. Imagine, your surgeon is a well-respected surgeon, who ALL surgeons look up to. You have a complication like inflammatory issues in your breast tissue creating severe itching and pain, but your surgeon is up to his elbows in research combating this very concept. When surgeons research decry popular considerations of inflammatory triggering and cascading complications, how will you be certain you will get a favorable response, or that your surgeon will even agree to perform an explant? I would rather not have a surgeon who is a researcher, who is opposed to the idea textured presents very concerning risks to women and cancer of the immune system. The emotional charge of a devastating disease subsides and in its place is left a responsibility to properly educate women ambit the real risks should they happen. Can a woman live with the idea her quest for better breasts gave her a cancer of the immune system and made her ineligible to be treated for her cancer bevause her insurance denied her. Further complicating this, what if she was told she had only 5 years to live from that incurable cancer. Then what?

I definitely have a feeling that the dairy industry and breast reduction surgeons go hand in hand. A girl or boy eats a tonne of cheese, butter and cream etc and their breasts grow and grow. Then their back hurts and they need surgery. Voila!
