There's a very good reason why he's like this gentle on MasterChef jr and, to a lesser extent, Masterchef when compared to Hells Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares. With Masterchef, these are home cooks who have never been properly trained in fine dining or advanced culinary techniques, so when the home cooks and kids mess up hes not ripping them a new one because they've probably never done it before. But when it comes to Hells Kitchen, remember most of the contestants are CHEFS in either major restaurants or have been supposedly trained in advanced cuisine. So they should know better when they make idiotic mistakes like over or undercooking scallops.

That rice pudding with the pistachio crumble and caramelized peaches sounds divine! I can’t blame Gordon-the kids are truly all right and it’s wonderful. ❤

Honestly if you’re working in a really fine restaurant and you’re f’ing up enough to get Gordon to get mad at you, you deserved it. You’re a damned adult and you should know better. The kids are learning though.
