not that i am aware of. these cheats are mostly of action replay and gameshark design. they didn't use those on arcade cabinets

i use select since its rarely used in any game

pretty sure they have to be entered manually. they are gameshark and action replay codes so you can good them by specific game to manually enter them in the cheats section

The menu you are referring to is the Retroarch menu. RetroArch is a modular emulator-management system. The actual emulators that retroarch uses are called "cores" and are packaged by a group called libretro, in order to be run under a single user interface (again, Retroarch). There are emulators within Batocera that are libretro cores, and there are others (Dolphin, Mupen64Plus) that are not libretro cores. This means you can't run those emulators with the same Retroarch menu. For example, you can get that menu to show up for N64 by switching the Batocera default emulator to Libretro core, and it will give access, but you will lose some performance and some games might not work. To do this -go to Advance system options in Batocera. Change Emulator from AUTO to Libretro:Mupen64plus-next Load the game and hotkey+south by default should open the menu.

@hudsonball4702 yes, there is Libretro versions of the emulators Dolphin for Gamecube and PCSX2/PLAY. Just when you which Emulator in the Advanced system settings make sure it says "Libretro:"

@@Cam-wm6eh Okay tried and it had mixed result. N64 and PS1 got cheats downloaded, but Game cube and PS2 had issues. Mainly there was no Game Cube file to replace the cheats in and PS2 cheats would get lost half the time. I would DL a file and it would unzip, but was lost (misplaced?) after that. X-Box and X-box 360 had no libertro core to switch to.

mame has no action replay or gameshark codes, other systems, to my knowledge, have to be added manually as their emulators are standalone from retroarch emulators

For mame only have to pick the cheats and put it in the root you choose in the emu… Retroarch don’t have separated cheats for mame or ps2

make sure to hit the apply cheats button in the menu

as far as i know, any arcade game does not use the kind of cheats the cheat menu uses. it uses action replay and gameshark style which are not available on mame, fbnero, or arcade

what i have found is some games have different codes or that they don't always work, cheating on some games is difficult because these cheats change code parameters in a game and that doesn't always work. you can look up gameshark or action replay codes and add them yourself to try them, but there is no guarantee

MAME cheats crash. At least you get unlimited continues 😂

these are gameshark and action replay cheats it seems, mame cannot use these as there were never a gameshark for arcade cabinets

i am not sure, but i assume as with all the other retro system stuff it is updated when the people who created feel it needs to be update, not certain though

No you have to add manually for every game!

You might be looking for F1 + hotkey (if enabled, which it is by default)

manually adding each line is a pain

have to enter them manually, search for gameshark cheats for the game on the web and enter them in the cheat menu and save them

I've tried a lot with the Pokemon games over the years and it always hit or miss. I think they have to be enabled in certain order to work, but I am not sure. There are also different codes for different rom versions. I can look into it more closely this week and i will get back to you.

Have not tried them with Alex Kidd, but i hope you were successful
