Hi, I'm Hiking Poh and I love hiking! Follow me as I introduce all the different hikes I have done here in Singapore and overseas. I also provide some tips for each hike, so hopefully you will find my hiking experiences helpful.
Although there aren't many designated hiking trails in Singapore, I try to create my own routes that consist of different types of terrain to keep the hike interesting and challenging. By following my videos, you can try out those routes yourself and discover the joys of hiking here.
I will also be doing some hikes overseas in places like Japan and Australia, so stay tuned!
NEED A PRIVATE HIKING GUIDE?
I'm available as a private guide if you would like to try out a specific hiking route here in Singapore. Feel free to contact me at hikingpoh@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

[Hiking Singapore] Ulu Pandan Park Connector and Rail Corridor
Here's a hike I did starting along Ulu Pandan Park Connector and Rail Corridor. It's very straightforward if not for the closure of part of the park connector due to a landslide, which resulted in me having to do a number of detours.
As such, I would recommend doing this route only after the park connector is fully reopened, which would be near the end of this year.
If you have any questions regarding this hike, please feel free to leave a comment below!
----------
START POINT
• Jurong East MRT Station
END POINT
• Queenstown MRT Station
DISTANCE
• Around 16 kilometers

I am glad the cable car exists on top of Mount Tsukuba because when three of my friends and I finished hiking it we were not looking forward to going back down since we were just visitors and didn't have poles. We went on some path to the right and it was pretty exhausting but we all survived without any injuries and we rewarded ourselves with Korean BBQ so that's good. 😅 Thank you for sharing your video.
Starting from what center...?
Hi! Have you hiked around Tampines Quarry before?
Good for crawling 😍
Just back from Singapore would have been a great thing to do while there will did it to my “things to do” next visit. Thank you for sharing
English subtitles please.
Thanks for the video. It would be interesting and more informative if there is a map if the path you took, so newbies like me can use it as a guide.
Noted! Will try to include a map in my future videos
Much of the pipelines, previously exposed, have now been fenced off. Which spoils part of the fun, especially walking on the pipes!
Yeah I remember walking on the pipes many years ago!
Any place allow cooking?
I'm not too sure but doesn't seem so
Enjoy your video, just a suggestion, it will be helpful if you can attach a map of the route you cover for ease of reference, thanks.
Good tip! A few viewers mentioned it as well. Will try to do so for future videos
Are the monitor lizard aggressive?
Haha not really, but it swiped its tail at me when I was crossing over
@@HikingPoh Thank you 🙏 Good to know I don't have to back track if I encounter one. I won't dare to walk past a wild boar though.
Thank you for making this video. Glad I found this channel. I'll be in Singapore next month. I love nature and animals, should I be aware of any venomous snakes or other predators?
Glad to be of help! There are a number of venomous snakes such as the King Cobra and Wagler's Pit Viper, as well as wildlife like wild boars and monkeys here. As long as you keep a safe distance and don't aggravate them you should be fine. Also be sure to have some mosquito repellent since mosquitoes are aplenty here and carry Dengue Fever
@@HikingPoh Thank you🙏 I used to live in Singapore decades ago but hanging out by the beach, swimming and kayaking was my interest back then vs hiking. Now I prefer the green 🙏
7:02 that’s the Straits of Singapore not Melaka
0:37 that’s the Punggol Arc bridge; the adventure bridge is further into your walk
Oh sorry you're right! Thanks for pointing this out
Watched this yesterday and tried it today. Very enjoyable, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fun Fact. There is a geological feature known as the Kallang Rift which runs in a roughly NNW direction from the Kallang basin up to the Yishun Reservoir. It is a deep gorge in the crust of the earth which was formed untold millennia ago. The Kallang River flows along this rift until it branches towards the Pierce reservoir.
Oh wow I didn't know that. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi, do you visited the abandoned haw par house between beach B and C, there is a secret route to enter ones, I'm been there last week only, it's all fence up but still can reach there.
I haven't, will try it when I do this route again!
Wwo thank you for sharing with us one im going to visit one day
No problem, better go soon before everything is torn down!
Is this a dangerous hike? Too many king cobras and crocs.
No not dangerous at all. The trails are well-maintained and a lot of people visit there with no issues.
👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing. I couldn't find the new trail last time.
Glad I could help! Hopefully you were able to find it this time
Hi, how many hrs walking?
Hi, it took me around 3 hours
how long will this hike take? I am planning one with friends :D
Took me around 3 hours, but with friends would probably take a bit more time I would imagine :)
A great hike over 16km long!
Indeed, was a good workout though it was really hot on that day!
did this trail last week and saw the “spiderwebs” as well. they seem to be dollar spot fungus
Oh didn't know that, thanks for sharing!
I haven't been there for a decade. Thanks for showing.
Anytime, thanks for watching!
Had a great time wandering around Sungei Buloh last time I was in Singapore. Very much look forward to visiting again!
Hope you have a good time there again!
Came across and subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good videos on your interesting hikes around SG!
Thank you so much for subscribing! I'll definitely be posting more of my hikes from here on
Tampines Quarry is gorgeous, definitely need to wear long sleeve and pants there. I also walk did a video walking from "Siglap Park Connector at Bedok" & "Siglap Park Connector Final Stretch along Bedok Reservoir Road" do check out to support! Hiking Gooooo!
Respect! You are walking in such hot weather, and is not even the peak of heat yet.
Haha thanks! Let's be sure to keep ourselves hydrated while hiking in this hot weather
@@HikingPoh I dun even want to hike in this hot weather. U stay well and safe.
Absolutely beautiful opening my friend, this looks and feels amazing!
It was, thanks!
whats your favorite route in singapore ?
Oh that's a tough question... I quite enjoy hiking from MacRitchie to Bukit Timah Hill through Rifle Range Nature Park, so that would be one of my favorites
@@HikingPoh will try that with my family soon
@@whitespark5 Hope you have a good time, and stay safe!
Hi if i want to include Thomson Nature Park, where do i start?
You can do the same route until after Upper Peirce Reservoir and onto Old Upper Thomson Road - from there you can easily go to Thomson Nature Park
Thanx for sharing.
@@awesomeanne6780 No problem, happy to be of help :)
One of my favourite walks in Singapore.
I've only just come across this channel. I have done a lot of these walks myself during visits to Singapore so it's great to re-visit them by watching the videos.
Great to hear and thanks so much for subscribing!
I was in Singapore at the beginning of December, and set out on the Tree Top Walk, which I know well. I came across this new trail, which I was unaware of. I ventured about 1km down it before turning back to complete the Tree Top Walk. Thanks to this video, I now know where this trail goes. It's on my list for my next visit to Singapore.
Glad you found this helpful and looking forward to having you back in Singapore!
Outstanding editing, absolutely gorgeous film my friend!
Many thanks my friend!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
A very enjoyable hike!
Indeed, I enjoyed it very much!
03:14 It is condensation trails by the jet plane. The hot, humid exhaust from jet engines mixes with the atmosphere, which at high altitude is of much lower vapour pressure and temperature than the exhaust gas. The water vapour contained in the jet exhaust condenses and freeze, the mixing process temporarily forms a trail cloud.
Thank you so much for your explanation! Haha and here I was thinking it was some interesting cloud formation... today I learned
The trail and the surroundings are simply perfect for hiking my friend.
Definitely, it's a good hike to just relax and take in the sights
Another wonderful hike! I've done several parts of this route, but haven't managed it all in one go. I'll have to do it next time I'm in SG!
I'm glad you enjoyed it and yes, please try this route when you're back in Singapore!
@@HikingPoh I think one of the best hikes I did was from the northern end of Orchard road to McRitchie reservoir and then along the forest trails to Beauty World MRT - about 20km all up!
@@kevinedw2002 Oh nice, thanks for sharing! I'll have to give it a try next year
Such a beautiful presentation my friend! This whole area is stunning!
Thank you very much!
Great video useful for newcomers to the track
Hope so!
Bird looks rare what species is that? So small alone
I'm not sure as well, really nice green color though. I'll try asking around and see if anyone knows
Tempat haikingnya bagus sekali❤
Wow, this is amazing...thank you for showing us the unseen places in Singapore...
Glad you enjoyed it! Will try to cover more of such places in the future
What a lovely area. Full of greens. Couldn’t believe this is part of Singapore. Preserve it at all cost.
It really was, and too bad a lot of these areas are being redeveloped to meet Singapore's growing population needs
Is this nearer to woodlands or Kranji(about Horses right)?
When look at Telok Blangah housing(since story: invaders from Mandai secret tunnel), maybe it is smthg like that? Block 21 and 20.
Nope, this is at Bukit Timah, which formerly had a racecourse for horse racing.
nice hike👍
Yes it was!
