Update on the Noctua NHp1 with the Sugo 16, could be the smallest case you can run this CPU cooler in. Found the temps quite high without the rear 120mm fan to pull the hot air out. The direction of the heatsink seems to blow hot air onto the RAM, which could raise the RAM's temperature and cause throttling. I'm considering buying a mini PC, but this is a concern.

I have the i7 4790k in my test bench with a 1080 ti as a normally equipped GPU. It's such a beautiful pairing. I can still get 60 fps in 1440p at max high settings. I also have an RTX 3060 in my travel build and have to use DLSS to get the same frame rate in modern games. The i7 4790k is an absolute gem, just like the 1080 ti.

1.063v on the GPU is unnecessary. I know stock it will use that when boosting but you could run much cooler, quieter, and use less power if you tuned youre voltage. (Ctrl+F in MSI Afterburner) Most Nvidia cards I have had can usually be reduced to around 0.950v give or take at the same max boost frequency and this drastically reduces temps and power draw with zero drop in performance. A lot of times I can even undervolt and overclock at the same time by reducing the max voltage by roughly 0.100v and increasing the max frequency an extra 100 MHz.
Hello buddy.. i had to return my is-55 cause it wouldnt work with the b650i gigabyte aorus I ordered this one cause it says to be compatible.. how is the cooling?

@@hrvojemilicevic3309 without any tests I can't say. This cooler fits the purpose of fitting in a small 5L case.
I've got the 4060ti Palit single fan in, the 4060 uses less power than the 1660, but the ti uses about 160w. which is epic, and a 57003xd only sub 65w CPU.

@@bs9two4 hard to keep em short tx will try
Pull the cooler and do a repaste. See if that fixes the thermal problem. Those EVGA 1080Ti FTW3s do NOT run hot unless heavily overclocked. I could regularly push mine to over 2000Mhz without breaking a sweat before I did the hybrid kit to it, and then that same card did something like 2200-2250Mhz off the top of my head. That was like... 4 years ago though, so fuzzy memory is definitely a thing.
@@ApacheVR-4 interesting yeah the heatsink is proper beefy it's just changing that voltage setting that made it run hoy
hey mate, ive seen some of your builds on facebook in the area, on marketplace, someone named andy lu is selling evga 1080tis for 240
@@mitchoo_ Hey bud yeah I saw 🪚 that but it's a double fan version prefer the triple fan looks more beast lol I don't have the money anymore now that I've been scammed sucks...
If you have not already, disassemble the card and slap new thermal paste on, also spread it out in a thin, even, but fully covered coat with a old gift card or something. My buddy ended up in a similar situation as you, 3 years ago he bought a used EVGA 1080ti for $500 or so. The card would crash his PC in games or completely shut it off. I could replicate it on multiple PCs with it too. I tried everything on the software side including bios flashing. The fix for it ended up being a thermal issue, it likely had a bad hotspot that was not being reported in software. The factory paste application did not look too great either. Its totally worth a shot if you can't return it. As a last resort maybe even try reflowing the card in an old oven? The success rate is not very high and will vary but its worth a try too.
@@dot_boi yeah legit can try this card has a lot of sensors and moving parts
When you DO get into Windows, is the thing even recognized at all in something like Device Manager or something? I know you said that you flashed the VBIOS, but if I remember correctly that card has multiple VBIOS on it that can be changed by flipping a switch on the PCB. I've seen some of these cards that were used extensively for mining that had custom mining VBIOS loaded onto them and you need to get rid of that. I had an EVGA 1080Ti SC2 that I had to do that on and it FINALLY ended up working, but I had to make sure that the VBIOS that I loaded onto it was the correct on for that switch position. Don't know why it mattered on that card since I was told by several people that it shouldn't have mattered, but in that instance it did.
try a popos bootable usb w/ invidia drivers.
Why did EVGA stopped making GPU?

No PSU in tho, that takes up a lot of space
Cs2 uses more GPU usage than Csgo ever did, so no need to stress about high gpu temps, I run average at 60-70 degrees regardless of the video cards I have lying around. The 4790 still runs incredibly well a decade later.
