How a Partnership Can Survive Political Disagreements – Pantsuit Politics
Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers, political commentators and co-hosts of the Pantsuit Politics podcast, reflect on a pivotal moment in their professional partnership during the 2016 presidential election. Holland had worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign and was a big fan of the candidate. Silvers was not. It was tough one to navigate - and it was right at the beginning of their friendship and podcasting. But instead of fracturing their collaboration, it taught them how to respect their differences and lean into them to make the podcast more interesting for listeners. Today, Holland and Silvers pride themselves on modeling disagreement as they "take a different approach to the news" to help Pantsuit Politics listeners feel more empowered and engaged.
Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers are the hosts of the podcast Pantsuit Politics and co-authors of Now What? How to Move Forward When We Are Divided About Basically Everything.

As a progressive and a Christian, I've learned a lot from Mr. French's NYTs columns. Mostly, that there are a lot of good-faith actors in communities where my prejudices once told me that there weren't.

I would love to hear David French comment on the lack of shame and guilt that we encounter today which, at the present time, is so evident in our politicians

The phenomenon of sticking with the wrong rather than face the shame that comes from admitting it is visible in many Trump-supporters. The arguments they offered back in 2016 have been proven to be wrong. So they just move on with different arguments, never acknowledging that they made mistakes in judgement 9 years ago.

David French is the best. He has taken so much abuse from the MAGA types, all because he was willing to call out Trump for who he actually is. He demonstrates better than almost anyone the premise of this episode. Thank you for having him on your show.

Yeah I don't understand how being correct about the whole Michael Brown incident is somehow being wrong.

He wasn't wrong about the whole Michael Brown incident. You should watch the video. That was just the inciting incident to get him to evaluate a larger issue that he changed his mind about.

Did you listen to the rest... where DF finds out that, in general american police forces are misusing force? The Michael Brown case was the door for DF to discover that he was Wrong about his initial responses to the Michael Brown case. It's called nuance / complexity. Try it sometime. It's well worth the effort. It's good for the soul.
