    I lived in Corbridge Street in Byker then moved to Stephenson Road in Jesmond. I spent many happy times going to the Apollo and the Odeon when I was young.

    It was a real community back then lots of little shops and a thriving area for people to meet.

    LIVED IN KENDAL STREET IN 50S AND 60S WIFEE COULD NOT BELEIVE MY CHILDHOOD I CANT REMEBER IT BEING BAD BUT TO DAY IT SOUNDS LIKE ANOTHER WORLD

    its brilliant to see these old photo's of where I grew up, I lived on union road third door from the top. Doesn't look like that now. apart from sawyers and ringtons there was carter's pies shop, hopkirks toy shop, The wife and I visit here every year cheers for the photo's

    Thanks for this - great music as well. I worked at Parsons, top of Shields Road in the Eighties. It hadn't changed much. Was back there a few years ago, and got lost.Cheers marra
