Emil/Sacrifice | NieR Replicant | Piano Arrangement
Heavily inspired by the Emil/Sacrifice orchestral arrangement for the starting section and reimagined that post-chorus section to better suit a piano on its own.
I feel like arranging some Drakengard music next, but it's not as popular as the NieR series :/

I'm finally finished! I've been busy with uni and my piano diploma exam, so I haven't gotten around to arranging :( No one has said anything, but I personally think the part from bar 43 sounds a bit out of place. It would have definitely worked if i wrote the entire song and it was the 2nd or last chorus. However, as the first chorus in a TV size arrangement it sounds a bit too climactic haha. ...

Thank you for sharing the sheet. I love this song but the sheet is a little bit hard for beginner. There are a couple of octave jumps. The bar 50-51 is really hard to me.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! This piece is a little more difficult for beginners due to the jumps and some double melodies. I recommend just playing the octave up to lessen the jump - it shouldn't change it too much.

Just wondering? What's the pedal for?
If you're referring to the functions of the pedal, there are usually 3 pedals on an upright and grand piano; not all are the same for each. - The left pedal is the soft/una corda pedal. It slightly makes the sound softer and shorter helping you play pp and ppp sections. - The middle pedal on an upright makes the sound very soft. However, the middle/sostenuto pedal on a grand piano sustains whatever notes were being pressed prior to pressing the pedal. As long as you keep holding this pedal, it will sustain those notes and you can take both your hands off and then play other notes in staccato. The use of this is more commonly found in advanced repertoire. - The right/sustain pedal is the most commonly used and just sustains every note played while this pedal is being held down. It's the easiest to start using, but very hard to master so that your music won't sound muddy.

Hi thanks for your comment. I’m not sure what you’re talking about, because the bar 22-25 in the pdf on my sheethost is exactly the same as the one on this video. Not to mention the pdf sheet downloads on my sheethost are in most cases the better versions if they are in fact different.

This is actually one of, if not the best and most accurate Kirameki piano arrangement of the Kousei & Kaori Version I've ever seen on UA-cam. However, you should place the mics a little further away to avoid peaking and then just use a limiter/compressor to increase the volume in post production.

Awesome arrangement!! If you don't mind, I would like to make two questions about notation choices: 1) Wouldn't it be neater to notate those arpeggio chords (in bars 2, 3, 5 etc) with wavy lines, instead of breaking them into 16th notes? I am not talking about right or wrong, but simply would like to know if you have any insight about this choice. In my case, I love when the harmony is easy to spot, so it feels better to see chords blocked together. 2) Wouldn't it be neater to have 8va lines at higher register notes such as in bar 76, isntead of many ledger lines? Again, not talking about right and wrong, but choices, specially since it happends all the time in the classical repertoire. As a reader, it's much easier to see a clef change or a 8va line. Anyway, again, great arrangement! The emulation of band elements worked perfectly... the result was very consistent and satifying to hear (I can imagine it is satisfying to play, as well)!
Thanks so much!! 1) I actually did try the wavy lines at first, but note that when you use them, the bottom note of the chord is strictly played on the beat. So the wavy line would have started the chord on the first 'and', if you're counting like: 1 and 2 and 3 and etc. I wanted the last note to be played on that 'and' beat, but also wanted the chord to be played with the G like in bar 2, so that's why I did that. 2) I did initially use an 8va line, but I wanted to challenge and practice my own and other people's reading, so that's why I got rid of it :p ..... which in hindsight, doesn't make any sense, because I wrote and thus know the notes now :|
