Won by a coin toss? Lol. Awesome.
Well, we had the same number of races, same number of firsts, and same number of 2nds (no body else ran the required 3 rounds). Ultimately we actually talked later and traded because I had a stack of dark blue Champion shirts, and i wanted another Top Finisher shirts that was a different color! lol
Where did you get the supermoto wheels and tires for the TTR?
The wheels were from somebody in the CMRA a long time ago. They are Pro-Wheel rims and were assembled when I got them. The tires are soft PMT Blackfires that I get myself from the factory. I'm not sure where Seth got his (on the #99 TTR)
@swfcpilot thanks for the reply, and best of luck in your racing!
For everyone that missed my second crash… ua-cam.com/video/3wlyvFngoHI/v-deo.htmlsi=yy5yb_iERvrc_6vG&t=88
gotta give a call out to Juniper! Your effort this year is clearly noticeable. Kudos to you. Well done! Your passes in the races made me happy to see!
I think this was the most bikes in a single class. Haven’t seen this many outside an endurance race or a kart race!
Thank you Mrs Essman for cornerworking AND documenting my passtime!!!
I think i missed recording this one.
Good on you Kendall for picking it up and getting it across the line anyway you had to! Points, points, points!!!
Thank you Mrs Essman for cornerworking AND documenting my passtime!!!
You can only tell my bike was electric at 4:34. Blends right in otherwise. Thank you Mrs Essman for cornerworking AND documenting my passtime!!!
Not even with a 85 can you catch kellan. Kid is a beast
I'm number 71 on the blue bike. This was a blast battling 731 through most of the race. He'd catch me at the end of the main straight, but I would get him back in the turns. Looking at the still frame, I think I got it. Maybe I'm just bias though! Either way we had a good laugh about it after the race, and I look forward to seeing the official result.
Thank you for posting these. I don’t get to sprints often but enjoy seeing what I miss thank to you both. Much appreciation for these!
Ok Cole, what happened there?… story time.
Yeah, I need to ride like that in ALL of my races. Gotta stop blowing the starts.. was the fastest I have gone around this track on that 8 year old bike. Just needed a chicken head for motivation. Listen to the chicken chaser roar!
looks super fun lol
Hey Sloan it's los (the busa guy before selling it) hope all is well
Hell yeah. Just racing the little bikes and having fun! lol
@@swfcpilot I'll try to go out and show some support one day!
Nice race!
bbk? whats your build? Picking up a Grom here in the next few weeks to race out there as well. Probably going to spend some time prepping it before just jumping in. Cam, Intake, blah blah. You are quick for sure.
TMGP is mostly Formula rules based on CC limits with any modifications. To race the actual Grom class you have to stay stock size, 125cc but any upgrades. You CAN go bigger and race in the matching class like F6 - up to 135cc 4-stroke air-cooled, F5, up to 160 cc air cooled or 125cc water cooled, etc. and 2-strokes have different limits. Details are here: texasminigrandprix.com/Class.php The faster Groms you see here almost all have cams, high compression piston, Kitako or similar cover with oil spinner delete, and an ecu flash or Aracer or similar replacement. Drop a tooth on the front sprocket and add a few on the rear. Then as you upgrade you'll see all sorts of suspensions. K-Tech is probably the ultimate best on small bikes but Ohlins and even almost ANY aftermarket is better than stock! And of course ditch the stock exhaust which some years weighs a solid 12 pounds! I like Tyga myself. There's plenty of tire options too (Dunlop, Mitas, PMT, Pirelli, etc) I run PMT's myself. Come check us out. Even with a mostly stock Grom/z125/etc you'll still have fun and learn a lot.
@@swfcpilot Got the grom and the mods have started. One question for you.... Catch cans? How is your set up. I have a 2022 and I am keeping the canister purge system on it unless there is a better way involving a different style catch can. I was planning on just hooking up a catch can to the vent on the canister system. Cannot wait to get out there and get some runs in. You are very quick and I enjoyed watching you in the videos.
@@R3d1100f I don't think any of the Groms in TMGP have a catch can or bottle. Groms they just check for safety wire on the oil drain. Some do the cam tensioner, brake caliper bolts, and axles but it's not mandatory. My emissions stuff is gone too on mine. I have a aracer ecu so it would ignore that system and not try to do any type of vapor purge or recovery. I think the only drain I have left is the fuel tank and nothing comes out of that unless you overfill it so it's open to the ground. Carbureted bikes run a catch bottle but of course carbs tend to spill fuel easier when they're laying on their side than a fuel injected bike. We're at Katy (Gulf Coast Kartway) this weekend (May 11-12)
@@swfcpilot good luck this weekend. See you out there soon :)
I talked to some of the grom riders with pod air filters, they they DO run the crankcase breather hose to a catch bottle. I still have the stock airbox (gutted and opened up the ports though), so my breather hose still runs to the airbox.
I had a fun battle with Rob even though he did finally get around me and rode off into the distance. My fault for not shutting the door on him in turn 4! lol
was a fun race for sure, the pass in turn 4 looked better on video that it felt, lol
I flinched damn it. lol
To busy swatting at the flies, lmao
This was my first race of the day and it started out tough. I could hear Seth on my back tire and was trying to keep him behind me while figuring out just how much grip we had. Then I got around some lap traffic without any trouble but Seth got caught up a little and gave me some breathing room to make it to the end.
Clearly the right choice. Wow Cole, that bike is a tank. How many times did it hit the ground? That ohvale tough.
I was so close to that third place!😅
A lot of people crashed in this one. Two of them was my family members
Damn Cole. Just when I was commenting at my screen that you need to take the endurance tank off your handlebars, you did.. an F6 bike in Unlimited. Bold, son. Bold
Baby shark!!!😂
Like pop goes the weasel...😮
Kudos to Seth for picking himself up at turn 6 and finishing the race. I appreciate you handing me 3rd place. (Only way I got it)
Nice use of the grass Cole! Well done.
Kendall you’re such a sandbagger. Killer move!
I'll replace this one with a higher resolution version soon
I'm the one that crashed on the yellow bike. Come to findout after the race, my front tire bead broke, so the tire went flat. I felt it in the first lap but kept pushing to stay in first.
We are participating on the race tomorrow. Thanks for the video. It actually helps learning the lines, and the track ❤
I KNEW I should have hidden all the Denton videos!! lol JK, glad it helped. One day I'll actually get a camera on my Grom for some on track footage from a Grom's perspective. And that chichane before the main staight... it's hard to tell on the video, but turn in late. That pair of turns is more important to get right verses fast as it'll determine how fast you end up on the "straight" (it curves to the left a bit at the end)
Are carbed clones able to race in the grom class?
The Grom rules say: "125cc 4-stroke singles Honda Grom, Kawasaki Z125 Pro, and similar machines allowed using Superbike rules with the following exceptions: No streamlining allowed. Rear number plates are not required." Having said that I KNOW that TMGP will allow a Benelli 135cc but for CMRA I'm not sure. You'd have to ask them specifically.
I'm glad this was the last race of the day because my brakes were fading fast.
Several of us are so evenly matched that grid position and getting the holeshot to win the sprint to turn 1 is 95% of the race! lol
Great job Noah and Kendall! That was a battle!
A difficult class to race in some days, when age = seat time. One of the fastest groups it is a priviledge to lose to.
Dang, this is awesome. I have an f7 bike! Would i get through tech with my thumb throttle?
I don't know why it wouldn't. I think the main thing for any throttle is that it snaps closed when you take your hand off.
nice! (until the SV has issues) 😁
I'm glad I missed this round 😂 Que the Benny Hill theme music🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for posting! I need to make sure I have a corner on the short track for Saturdays!!
Cale and I worked that corner at the bus stop for his Prov Nov. It was a good place to watch. We should have the Groms at the last MSRH round and we may be able to wedge them into the trailer for the out of town events too.
@@swfcpilot I look forward to seeing it!
YeH, I only ran one other race this day and I started in nuetral as well, doh! I however did not win that race. Watching the races on this day as a spectator leads me to the conclusion that racing will be much more fun if I have race tires. More focus then on racing and less on just not crashing. It sounds like a worthwhile expense considering all we do to attend these events.
Ah! I watched again and I actually DO go through the motion to put it into first but it must have stayed in neutral. I'll have to pay better attention next time!
Sorry for holding you up, but I wanted to be in the video longer lol
Ha ha. It was a lot of fun. I brought that TTR out knowing it would be silly slow and in no way set up for an adult. If it has been dry I think you all would have lapped me! lol
Was Cale out there on rain tires? This pace looked very fast for the conditions. Faster than DOT tires would permit. I have never tried rain tires so I have zero knowledge on what they are capable of…
No, just PMT Blackfires. I don't think it ever stayed wet enough for rains that day or if it did we only had 1 set of wheels for the SSR. I know that PMT rains are fantastic though. I think it was the next year we had an endurance race with full rains the entire race. If you're smooth and don't brake when leaned over you can move pretty fast.
@@swfcpilot great info. I need to just mount up a set at some point and go ride when the track isn’t dry. I need to build judgement for how much abusethey can take when it starts to dry out. We have destroyed DOT tires by just being underinflated. I imagine if a race starts wet and dries out, one has to make a judgement when to come in and switch back.
First time i have seen 95% of yall use the rear brake in a race…
Isn't that the off-track/grass brake? lol
What is this?! Impromptu supermoto. What will your mom say when you show up at home with grass stains on your motorcycle suit?….
It's just the "scooter race". lol 50cc-ish bikes, the rules are made up when you grid up (like direction, long/short course, how many laps, etc) and in the race you HAVE to cheat once and you can't cheat when you're in the lead. There's been some crazy stuff over the years!
I see we had the "red flag" chair out there! lol
Appreciate the coverage!
I'll gradually get all the races uploaded. They're running slower than normal and the quality is way lower normal so I don't know what's up with youtube. :)
Where are the scooters?
ha ha, "scooter" is just an old term that possibly had meaning years ago for the class. There actually is a real scooter that shows up sometimes.
