As a Ruckus and a V Star 250 rider, I really enjoy small bikes and your adventures as well. You are going to have a lot more than 300 friends very soon. Ride safe
Thanks The 250 is such a pleasant size for around town while still being able to do longer rides too. I'd really like to try a V Star some time
I live in MN, U.S. and have a couple Goldwings. If I chose to commute on it in the winter, the cold would mostly not be a problem, but the ice and snow might be. Picking up a 900lb bike in the middle of Minneapolis traffic with numb hands would suck in a very special way, I'd assume. So...I'm looking forward to hearing about your commute experiences.
I'm with you on that! It's incredible how much the difference of weight between my 250 and 450 are, nevermind the bigger bikes. I'm almost tempted to get a 125 just to have something super lightweight for around town in the winter. Maybe a Goldwing some day, but there's too many motorcycles to have!
I'm a Mainer, and when I get my own, I'd love to ride with you if you head south a little!
I don't think I'd bring a Ruckus all that way, but I'd certainly love to ride my TU250 in for Independence Day again. How are the festivities in your area? I loved Eastport, but that was a little busy
@@howdidigetthere they're alright. It's Maine, so don't get too excited. 😆 However, I don't even have a scooter yet so it's more of a pipe dream for me.
Positive effort, sir. Perhaps another theme or backdrop for presenting the insightful quote would be more impactful from a videographers analysis. Pure class of a motorcycle👌
Thank you. Sometimes what looks good on my laptop doesn't look as nice on my TV once it's uploaded. Always learning, and hopefully getting better
This is what motorcycling is all about. This guy gets it.
I got this bike for my MSF course and I have been kind of obsessed with it since then. Would love to have one. I'm not terribly drawn to the newest, most powerful bikes. This dude just ride this bike and I love seeing that.
I rode a Suzuki VanVan 200 for my course and immediately fell in love with that bike. I'd decided I'd get the VanVan or the TU depending which came available first. I've done about 8000km on this bike now and although I don't think the 250 is too weak, I'm not sure I'd feel the same about a 200 right now. The TU250 is just such a fun and easy to ride bike. Have you purchased a bike now?
You probably shouldn’t hang out in neighborhoods like this. Seems to bring out all sorts of hoodlums 😂 Might need a guard dog 🐕
We left our guard dog at home for this trip, and that was clearly a mistake!
Hello, let's assume that I have purchased a Giant Service Tool! Do I need to have any access data to use the dongle?
The Giant Service Tool requires a dongle, which is available to Authorized Giant dealers. Aside from that, I'm not entirely sure myself since our company computer is logged in
My Ruckus costs $8.69 U.S. to insure, and the registration costs $5.00 for three years
Canada is a place of taxes and nonsense, and I'm sure that most countries are much cheaper than here. That said, New Brunswick is even cheaper than British Columbia where I came from. In BC the Ruckus' insurance was around $40/month
would think the department of hwys would fix the roads up,
How did the Ruck handle the slippery muddy roads?
Possible to get it ? Not for dealer ?
The program key comes directly from Giant and is only for dealers
hahaha doggyyy
💯
Can this one be used on a Marlin 8 with Maxxis 29 x 2.40 tires?
Absolutely. The Marlin will have two sets of eyelets on the rear end. The rearmost ones are for fenders, and the frontward/higher ones are for the rack
I've said it before but I'll say it again... I love your videos. And PEI is one of my favorite places in the world. My wife and I did a very long bicycle camping tour of PEI back in 2005 or something. That place is magic. Anyway. Make more videos please. I really enjoy your approach.
Thank you! My wife and I did our honeymoon on PEI 8 years ago, which ended up planting the seed for us to move to New Brunswick in 2021. PEI just has something special about it
> Starts ruckus >Instantly revbombs Yep. It's a Honda.
I’m 68 & ride a 125 Burgman. So easy & comfortable. I love the videos. Just said to my wife how similar BC is to North East here in uk.
I'm from BC originally, but this video is made in New Brunswick on the East Coast. Have you always rode smaller displacement bikes? I've bought a TU250X and then an '84 GS450 since this. The bigger bikes, especially the 450, are not calming like the small ones
My jeep broke down....and I have used my Ruckus all spring and summer....no insurance or plates...just scooter license for $15 for 4yrs.....and I got a shiny black box under the seat for groceries or whatever.....fun economical vehicle...runs 40 mph top end.
👍
Are you in New Brunswick, Canada? That's a good reason to not want a Honda 150L(carbs) but I met a woman & I drove to meet her in...... NB, Canada ! I stayed in town for 7 weeks & almost moved up there but I kept pushing my departure date until I just had to go. Snow in the yard was so high that from the front window I could only see the upstairs of the house across the street. I was 1-2 blocks from the bay but it was one big block of ice for my whole visit. I came close to being your neighbor to the north of you. But I'm back in the 100degree weather of my home..... ahhh, where you can ride everyday. peace
Not at all clear where to attach the main connection
Hey dude, get a full face helmet please.
I started on a 2019 Tu250X last summer. Absolutely LOVE the motorcycle. My biggest complaint by far is the seat, it is terribly uncomfortable. I like to sit practically with my balls on the tank, and that portion of the seat SUCKS. Other than that, love it to no end.
I have a question, did you add the clock or is it a rare Suzuki option 🤔. Good video Aaron enjoyed watching and seeing some of the lighthouses I’d seen in 2022. 👍
Got a metro, same thing. It really is the best dam thing
I have 2014 TU250X, originally bought for my wife, but became my main bike for city commuting. It's so small and light (I'm pretty short rider) great for city commuting. Though, I'd say it is a bit scary getting on the highway at my location since it tops out at 65~70mph on flat, 60ish when climbing.
The speed limit on my local highway is 110km/h (68mph), and although the TU can keep up with the limit, there's not much power for passing. I've also bought a Suzuki GS450 since this. I have mixed feelings about the effectively identical but bigger bike. The TU is just such a joy to ride, despite lacking power at highway speed. In town is really where it shines
Where you live is absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you! It's amazing how the seemingly ordinary can be so special if we only stop and look at it
Excellent tour. Thank you. Your tent looks interesting. I would like to know where to buy one. I’m a 75 year old Yamaha BWs 49cc scooter and a Piaggio Beverly 250cc step through motorcycle rider. A Ruckus has always been on my radar. Time to sell the heavy Piaggio.
If you mean the large triangular tent, I'm sorry to say that it was a custom-build by the people who own that property. I'd booked that site on Hipcamp so that I wouldn't be stuck with my own tent (in the event I turned out to be too incompetent to use it correctly. I was also carrying a hammock on this trip in case things really didn't work out! I see a lot of BWS's around where I live, although I haven't tried one yet. The Ruckus appealed to me more since it's got the wider tires and seems a little more capable of playing in the mud
Huh 🤔 test drive or upgrade 🤔
It's impossible to upgrade a Suzuki, because they're already perfect ;)
This makes a lot of sense
It's spelled the same as the French town, just not spoken the same, cal-lus, not cal-lay.
I had my 1997 TU 250x until this year, loved every minute of it.
Yes, you learn to get along on the roads in a way that sticks w/ you. Defensive Riding is mandatory if you wanna survive & you'll be allowing cars to pass even on roads where you can go the posted speed limits ! I had a TOMOS Targa that got 110mpg of gas & it had like a cool fairing on it making it look sleek..... lol, not like classic scooters -n- stuff. You see everything you never knew was there like you said, every yard & stuff in those yards, and everything is visible on these bikes. Mine had 20inch tires which made for added handling/safety but I understand everything you've talked about here..... it is a good feeling & cheap to operate as you said. Mine costed $1200 in 1996 but all that said, I'd do a Rukus if needed or the Honda 150L dual sport for $3000 ? I know your bike is a Honda so it's almost bullet proof..... ride safe & peace
I had a 2015 ruckus and I really loved it. But I had to sell it because it was just too dangerously slow where I lived.
And you put groceries where 😅.
www.amazon.ca/Chase-Harper-5000-Rukus-Black/dp/B000WJ75J8 Or in a backpack You can at least try to use your imagination
Skeleton frame on a motor for alot of money. No storage
Great job on the video's. Tough little bike and rider. The Grom is a go anywhere beast! I was thinking in the past of getting a Grom, but decided instead for the Honda Xr150l. I love my Xr150l. Over 120mpg and will do 80kph all day.
I've got a TU250X since this, but the Ruckus still has a special place
@@howdidigetthere lol. I meant Rukus --not Grom. The Rukus is a beast.
Excellent video. I’m a 75 year old lifelong motorcyclist. Always always wear gloves.
Great video!!!
Thanks!
You keep reminding me that I'm not out adventuring on my Honda XR150L. I've gotta go do something about that...
There's always more to explore!
Roads smooth as silk.
Good video Aaron 👍
Nice that you have the two motorcycles to switch it up and add to your creative content. Those are some muddy roads if that’s what you call them in New Brunswick 😂
Ruckus Life.
the speed with which you entered that rock section.. man, you really stood your ground for longer than could be expected😂. I am glad you are fine! Great video, thank you.
Thank you! I used to do a lot of mountain biking, and usually the most dangerous thing is to stop, so I took a shot. Can't win them all!
wow, nice scenery from NB. Super cool bike, I am thinking about getting this model myself. Would love to see more of your ride, off road and on road. Cheers from Ukraine!
Thanks I'm half Mennonite, so I surely have some relatives over there. The TU250 is awesome. Many more videos of the area to come
Started riding scooters when I opened a scooter rental for Expo 86. Kept an elite 150cc out of the bikes. Loved that scooter. Fast forward and many motorcycles later i just picked up a ruckus from a friend for zipping around town. My other ride is a decked out for adventure klr 650.
Since this I've also bought a TU250 and an '84 GS450 I do miss the layout of the scooter a bit. Eventually I might try out a Honda Silver wing or some such that's bigger but still oriented towards a scooter feeling
This is great!!!!
What is the big problem with the carburettor? It gives you a better connection and feel with the engine.
Not everyone wants to deal with the maintenance that comes with them.
