Theatre Rigging
Very small 4 point show out of Cobb Ga on 08/30/23. Ever wondered how threatre rigging is set up? Well lets watch as Travis out of Atlanta gives us a tour. Apologies, in the video we reference the yellow ribbons that you walk on as battens, just know those yellow slits are called ribbons not battens.

Install of a G2 Tower. Here you will see Travis out of Atlanta GA climb up, release the crane strap, set motor chain and climb back down.
I'm much happier just being the drummer. Rock Stars are spoiled brats that made it.
I never thought about this. Rock Climbers must LOVE this shit for experience. To THEM, this is EASY stuff. They're not on a rock face Mountain. This is paint by numbers for rock climbers.⭐👊🏻🤘✌
Piece of cake
What camera?
Good stuff boys!! I love my job
WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS IN THE RAIN ? VERY SLIPPERY.
What's the protocol for lightning in this kind of situation?
This is a really old 'manual' flybar system for those of who are wondering. Good for them biceps! But check out automated systems!
I only just got over climbing an 8-foot ladder. Fuck doing this.
what's a g2 tower?
Huge respect to both of you. Love what you do. I would have been PISSED if my trainee was failing to following instruction at the most critical point in the procedure you've been discussing and preparing for the last 15-20 minutes for! But, we all have obstacles we need to learn from..
love how he teaches. would love and would feel so safe to be working with him )
I always thought it was weird seeing all our Safety videos only coming from American real life scenarios. Now I understand why, not to say its wrong, but in my country the employer would be fined making employees work on heights and worse on temporary structure set ups during the rain. Its not impossible but it surely is a national safety standard to stop work
Conner: Like hell it's not a race down. Seriously though, he did good. haha
Balls of steel. No chance I could ever do this and I'm totally fine with that! Lol! Side note, what show was this?
Dude at the beginning saying you have the ability to pull over a crane. What!?? If a 180 pound man is pulling over a crane, there were much bigger issues.
amazing teacher,. great man
Need to work on your cardio
NICE TATS!!!
Shouldn't you have to attach the hooks when landing?
"The rope, that yellow thing" wow, seems like basic training should take place on the ground. Are you union ? We never work heights in the rain in Detroit [Carpenters]. We'll sit around for 4 hours, if it doesn't stop we call it a day. No wind over 20 mph either. I remember my 1st job working heights was a 4 story cooling tower, my knees were shaking uncontrollably like a little girl, I almost dragged up. Glad I didn't, got used to it quick and made a nice career out of it.
Thanks for uploading this dude, new to uprigging and had been thinking about rigging in boston w/ local 11 and wanted to see what it's like, and this is the only gopro vid i've seen of truss climbing, seriously gonna try it now. We need more rigging videos and actual gopro teaching videos.
Is this animated?
very cool
I thought you were taking down G2 cellular towers... I was like...........
I love jujutsu kaisen!!
Chinese crane 😑
That trainee's heart doesn't seem in it. Complete lack of eagerness to learn and more than one occasion he seemed oblivious to what he should be concentrating on.
Must be nasty climbing black steel in those temps without gloves!
Bro 8:45 jujustu Kaisen season 2 was fire asf broski

Sukuna was cooking
@@TeenWithACarrotIDK facts!!!
This line of work always amaze me, my respect for all the riggers out there!
There are ways to safety your spud, bro.
Looks cool man. Highest I’ve ever been working was in a cherry picker washing a water tower.. heck of a view though. Godspeed bro
I always wanted to get into this but never know how sadly espeially where I live its hard to get this kinda work
I remember when I first got into rope access I did a similar climb, I thought how hard could it be. Holy cow I was out of breath. I don’t know what kind of harness y’all have on but I would have road that crane up there
When this was installed, how did the rigging crew know that the grid deck would safely support the load? It appears that whatever was being supported by this installation was being carried by 4 points, but are those points attached to the grid and designed to be load bearing? I'm just starting to learn this stuff, and these are the types of things I think of when I see this, so it's a genuine question.
I would really recomend a petzel harness, it has spots to hook the shark hooks on the chest and make it easier to have your hand free when climbing. otherwise great work! A little bit different from climbing in a wind turbine tower but the principle is the same !
homie talking bout anime while waiting for a crane climbing on top of a steel tower in rain
I notice the Celtic tattoos! Do you have celtic heritage? I’m Welsh 😀
Good to see you training him on the job but kid should have really been trained before hand on fall protection and rigging/signal person.
One's climbing up and rigging the thing, the other's trusting the crane guy. If I was the crane guy my palms would be sweating as well as the climbers.
Hahah oh lord I could never do this especially in the rain 😂 props to you my friend 👏
4:53 that’s scary. Those welds look cold, no penetration
Hey you would know more than me honestly lol
Happy i never have to do this in the rain for the most part also 50ft my max lol
Lol no different in the rain.
Wondering how much they get paid not safety at all
It varies but the pay is pretty good, most states start at about $25 an hr. We get a little more than that.
The instructor climbing then hooking on if he slips he will fall be below his lowest clip should always be under a clipped on hook when climbing
The instructor always had one clip in while climbing.
Yeah and he climbed above the hook then clipped on with his 2 nd clip if he always clipped on level or above and slipped he wouldn’t fall far but the way he done it having the clip below him then climbing with no clip above if he slipped he will have a grater fall I work in climbing and that is not how you clip on always be under a clip or level then clip the next one on as far as you can reach take one off climb level clip the next one on never climb above the clip he is doubling his fall rate doing it that way we all make mistakes but he training the other guy if he was getting tested for climbing in the uk he would fail
Bro on the ground wearing a long sleeve black shirt in 100° temps?
Lol that's actually me! Long sleeves actually help more in the heat than having ur skin exposed to the sun over time! I was chillen lol
@@worldwiderigging I get it dude. Millions of landscapers can't be wrong! 😂 Stay safe brother👍
I'm not understanding how that little piece of string tied around the end of the pipe up in the battons is going to prevent that cable from sliding off the pipe if it's vibrating enough to spin sideways.
Yea it sounds pretty funky but you'd be surprised how little resistance it needs to keep it in place.
climbing a metal tower in a rain storm? Safety aint first on this jobsite huh?
Just a light shower, there was no lightning in sight. We check for lightning very regularly actually! Always keeping the guys safe!
@@worldwiderigging i assume your making over 100k doing this?
I don't know if Connor is gonna make it 🤨. If I have to warn you three fucking times that you're about to be smacked upside the grape by a 600lb steel ball that's swinging on the end of a cable and it still takes like 45 seconds for you to look up and have it sink in, you might be too mentally slow for this job. At least for *my crew.
The experienced guy wasn't quite assertive enough with his directions if you ask me. He sounds scared and shouldn't be leading someone on a job like this.
Connor is very experienced in rigging as well, just in a different work environment. He just wasn't sure if I was just explaining or actually telling him at that moment to look up lol but all good on all fronts.
Hi! Experienced rigger from the video here, I was definitely not scared, I just knew how slow the ball was actually moving and knew it wasn't a need to freak him out from sounding super urgent. If the ball was swinging at the speed of light then yes my assertiveness would have been a whole lot different. But we got the job done, no harm no foul.
