I hate it when people act like kids learning about LGBTQ will turn they gay. Like no. I didn’t learn what it was until Covid, but before then, I was watching Tv. I saw characters and although I didn’t have a label for them at the time I thought, they don’t seem like a boy or girl. I was playing with my toys and shopping the girls together. I never showed interest in boys. Learning about lgbtq just gave me a label for everything but it always existed.

How do ppl know wha lgbt is at such a young age like im in secondary school and still don’t what non binary and Demi sexual and stuff r and then u have ppl younger than u knowing about all this like wth

As someone who's about 4 years younger than myself, you being able to understand ypurself so well at such a young age is honestly very unexpected (not in a bad way, of course) With your age, however, just make sure to keep mys elf open minded to yourself chaning and don't limit yourself to a certain mold. Be whoever you wanna be, as long as its safe!! I honestly don't really know what i'm yapping on about at this point, but I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in elementary school and have a smooth transition to middle school in the future :)

Look trust me I knew what lgbt was when I was 9 almost 10 and I still didn’t fully understand it (and I know some stuff now just not the whole ‘genders’ thing though, still support) and I thought I was bi when I was 10. But being in 3rd grade and knowing what lgbt is is kinda scary ngl I mean you must have had just the internet in front of you for information, i guess it was the pandemic but still. Some people in these comments, while coming from a good place I’m sure, need to realize how self-aware little kids are… Not all kids think the same and some just have a better grasp on the world. Covid SERIOUSLY changed how so many people perceived the world and some kids learned so much about themselves. Personally I knew I liked girls ever since fourth grade, and that was BEFORE covid. I’m now in high school, and have been out as a lesbian for 5 years. I genuinely believe every kid can label themselves as any sexuality or gender and all of them should be respected. Sure if you’re younger, it’s important to keep your options open, but that comes with time and aging. (Sorry for my 4:00am take on this lmao)
