The Tiruppavai consists of thirty stanzas referred to as pasurams in praise of Perumal attributed to the female poet-saint Andal.
Andal assumes the guise of a cowherd girl in these 30 verses. She intends to perform a par􏰀cular religious vow to marry Vishnu and remain in his everlas􏰀ng company, invi􏰀ng of all her friends to join her to serve him with her.
In this, Andal tries to wake her cousin who will be asleep inside a bunglow made up of pearls and lit with lamps to be able to go and meet Madhavan ( krishna ) .
