Where do you find the makeup charts? I've only been able to find a few of them online.
@@emmettb3512 most of them online indeed! very very few were given to me by ex cast members, but most of them are online
Awesome!!
@@thetunebella6675 thank you!
❤
From where do you have your original Cats wigs❤
@@DominikEhlers ebay, friends, private sellers ;)
@@mistoxictutorials6448 thank you♥️♥️
love it
thank you!
Hi Mistoxic, which colour do you use for dyeing a unitard for Demeter? I am planning a show dance with a pottpury of cats music and my costume shall look like demeter. warm regards Katja
Hi, I would not use the method in this video for Demeter, as she is not entirely yellow underneath for a base. Fabric paints in a warm yellow tone are never wrong for a Demeter.
promo sm ❣️
We have almost completed our wigs, using mostly your tutorial for guidance! Thank you SO much! We are very happy with the results!!!
Aaw thanks for your feedback! So glad I could help!
Five hours later, and I'm covered in water, but completed this step. LOL
great makeup!
Thanks a lot!
Yay another tutorial :D Love it!
thank you!!
Do we need the specific tv paint sticks? Or any orange and yellow?
you can get the same tones in supracolor too, I just use the paintsticks because it's on the sheet and what they used for the show and also easier to apply for the bases ;)
Yeeeees <3
Aww that makeup was ADORABLE! I was in CATS not too long ago.
thank you! and oh such fun!👍🏻
awesome video! just out of curiousity, do you think you might do tugger one day? :D
thank you! I will do Tugger when I get to make a new wig for him!
Beautiful 😍😍😍
aaw thank you! 😊

Thank you!! 😀
These videos are very informative and helpful for my first Cats cosplay, thank you!
Thank you for your feedback! Glad I can be of help!
Awesome!!!!!
Thanks!!😊
Also OMG your wig looks so much better than mine😭😭😭 mine looks so weird mine is big and puffy I put it on yesterday and it legit looks like my head was two times bigger😂😂 and people said I had a big head when I was baby🤣🤣😭😭
hi! my wig is an authentic London Etcetera wig worn by Lucie Fentum in the show. And the wigs' purpose is to change your human appearance so don't worry there!
@@mistoxictutorials6448 omg really that's cool! And thx :3
OMG AWESOME but where did you get the face reference like the printable did you find it online did you make it because those seeds really help me I did Rumpteazer once and I think it came out great!
I made this one as I guess next to no one outside of the London production has ever seen the real sheet! I can guess most of the colour codes by experience though so it should be close enough!
@@mistoxictutorials6448 U ARE TRULY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
You are so under rated I love this it helps a lot thank you!!
aaw thank you! means a lot! glad I could help!
@@mistoxictutorials6448 no problem! :3
This is amazing!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! I am doing makeup for our production of CATS and I saw a picture of this version of the twins and my trial makeup jist wasn't working out and now I have a better understanding and can go back and teach our Coricopat and Tantomile the proper way. Thank you again.
aaw that makes me so happy that I could help you! Good luck with the production!
What needle size would you say these authentic warmers are knit with? Is there a difference in the gauge between regions/productions worldwide or even characters in the same production? Some do seem chunkier than others. Do you have a personal preference of gauge when you knit your own warmers?
authentic warmers aren't knitted by hand, only the weaving is done by hand so no idea here. It's usually a rather small size, none of the authentic warmers I've come in contact with are knitted in a chunky way. That totally depends on the yarn used.
@@mistoxictutorials6448 Looking back I think my question wasn't the most helpful lol! The knitting part of my brain has been asleep for a few good years. Only just started re-learning again these last two weeks. I should've asked: what gauge are these warmers knit at in terms of the number of stitches and rows per 10cm? I could then try to find a yarn weight and needle size that replicates the "scale" of these authentics by experimenting a bit. :) Thanks for the reply by the way. Oh and your personal costume work is incredible! Always found it super inspiring.
If I remember correctly, the original Broadway costumes informed the costumes for the 1985 Australian costumes, which in turn informed the original Hamburg costumes? So if that is accurate the Broadway and Australian tails were of similar construction to the Hamburg tails? Love these videos by the way. The appreciation for the nuance details of the costume construction of Cats is such a pillar of the fan community. :)
The first Hamburg set was supervised by the Broadway costume supervisor from Parson's in Hamburg, but they looked different from the start. Same with Vienna and Sydney. I can't tell if the tails were made the exact same way as I only have the Hamburg and London/UK tails and never seen any others up close to compare.
@@mistoxictutorials6448 Who was the costume supervisor who went from Broadway to assist Hamburg? I struggled to find the person on the wiki. Yeah and I totally understand about not having access to costume pieces to study and compare. That's an unreasonable ask from me! I do wish we had more insight into the different directions and decisions made between productions in the early years. They all seemed to exist in this weird space between artistic experimentation but still having to adhere to a basic formula. They were replicas, but not quite... One of the only instances I have found that sheds some light on the costume decisions that happened in those days is this: Costume supervisor Ron Morrison mentioned the first Australian costumes were a combination of the London, Broadway and Toronto productions. In addition he mentioned the original Australian costumes more closely resembled the "5th Avenue" look of Broadway, than the "alley cats" of London. I take it he meant the Australian team had both the stylistic choices and costume construction method groundwork laid by those productions to work and learn from, in addition to Napier's drawings. But also as we can see from the end result they had some freedom to explore and experiment, within reason. Thanks again for the replies! Great to be able to share thoughts with another fan. Looking forward to more content on your channel.
@@funeralgothatoo5814 Alison Todd, the only name appearing in all the first programs' costume team. (The wiki is not the best place to find correct information sadly)
@@funeralgothatoo5814 it's probably not that complicated when it comes to the question which creative decisions went into which production. The 80s productions in Vienna, Sydney and Hamburg all had their first set of costumes made under the supervision of the US supervisor. That's why the respective first set of costumes looks similar (not the same, as they were made by different people) in all those productions. As years went on, they established their own supervising teams for each country and some more artistic freedom went into the work. Wigs and make up were different in each those productions because they always had local make up artists to design the heads. It didn't change before Karen Dawson got involved more and more. London was very different as they always had their own team from the first day that established the London version's look. They were not so much influenced by the Broadway people.
@@chrissi2810 exactly! thanks for putting it to words better than me ❤️ (I am merely trying to show and possibly explain the pieces I own, I won't guess about costume pieces I don't know much about. ;) )

Great content! How do you paint the stripes ne scribbles on the unitard?
Thank you! With squeeze bottles and brushes. The tutorial for this will follow in another video once I find the time to paint a new unitard.
"Wig head covered in tape"....I should have done that with poor Lenore (mannequin head) :/ I had to gauge out pieces of her styrofoam head to get the cap off
yeah Styrofoam heads are not ideal as they don't take well to heat and are rather small, but it can be prevented (a bit at least) by putting tape on it
Yay one of my favourites! Would ivory makeup foundation work instead of TV paintstick ivory?
absolutely! :) glad you like it x
Nice One 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
I've neither the time nor the patience to make wigs, and I admire those who do! It's always so interesting to see the process of how these are made in the cosplay fandom.
Thank you! I love seeing how people make things and hope I can help others by showing how I do it ☺️
Thanks for posting ❤️
