We're New Legend, a low-production, high-quality classic 4x4 shop with a vision for delivering the best IH Scouts, Wagoneers, and Range Rovers money can buy.
When you think about it, today most cars are invisible. Camouflaged in a sea of black, white, and silver metal with nothing to say. Then, there are cars that stand out, start conversations, have a story to tell. The ones that bring back old memories and make new ones.
You can have an adventure and excitement without giving up comfort, safety, and reliability. Craftsmanship and design of the past with the technology and engineering of the future. Every car has a story to tell. What's yours?

1975 Scout II New Legend Retro Series Build
I have a 73 with 345 4bbl. Got it in 2011
Do you announce these events somewhere? Wish I would’ve known yall were this close to home.
should open this up to CJ's as well
Ok Amigo Lorenzo qué preciosidad y Abentura más chuli
345 and a 4-speed!! Although an LS could launch this thing into orbit!!
Where is that waterfall?!? I'm in central South Carolina and we've been hitting parks and want to go to that one!
Beautiful video. Can anyone ballpark where in South Carolina this is? Theres a magic to the scenery.
We kind of bounced around all over from Rock Hill, SC to Highlands, NC and back. Hopped on and off the South Carolina Adventure Route as well!
💸I really hope this doesn’t become the intro to what i imagine the NEW scout over priced eV⚡️$80K+++💸💸💸
The new scout (EV or hybrid) is scheduled to be priced in the $60s.
I've been considering a Scout, my dad had one when I was a kid, and I live about an hour from where they were built, so nostalgia is a factor. This video probably just made my decision. Time to find one. Great work, thanks!
love the production
That Green with the Tan Top is the hottest out of the bunch! makes me want one !
Just found your channel and am loving what y'all do. Good stuff!
we're glad you're here!
You guys are awesome and as much a part of the Scout legacy as anyone, in my book. Thanks for all the build inspiration and for keeping these Scouts on the road!
Damn would be good to bring the family over from Australia and do this trip. Anyone hiring out a Scout in 2025 ?
So good @Sean and the Team/Family at New Legend, great video! Keep up the good work. Hope you enjoyed the Scout Motors reveal today as well.
Released a couple of hours before the VW Scout reveal. Wish the old ones didn't rust so bad. Mine started rusting within a year or so. Had to sell it when I moved to Florida because it didn't have A/C. It most likely ended up in a junk yard. Sad, but it was fun while it lasted. Great memories!
I'm excited about the new ones. More manufacturing in SC at decent wages is what is needed.
New New Legend Video -> 🔥
Not bashing you guys at all, but why would you not consider the jeep to be the first suv?
Of all vehicles I have owned or ridden in, my 78 Scout Traveler was IT!!! DIESEL, 23mpg in 4wh, 27mpg in 2wh. Drove it south from Alaska to Arizona in mid winter, no jumper cables, pliers, or spanners! From Tok until Prince George, I put my sleeping bag between me and the door, defrost was just strong enough to give a clear 12inc circle to see through. I was often the Only 8in tracks through frest falling and blowing snow!! But hey, I was young😅😮
Cool car, Nice filmwork ❤
I have 3 scouts watching this video reminds me how much 4X4s have improved since the 70s. I love them but it's like riding a mountain bike circa 1985 vs a 2024. A Subaru would have less trouble on this trail
Does anyone know when they went from the “Pull Knob on dash 4wd” to the “floor mounted 4wd”? I can’t for the life of me remember what year I had but it was the pull out knob for 4wd with a 345 slime green exterior paint, bench seats. Thx!
How about a windshield channel, that would be nice the whole windshield channel since they rushed out so bad
This video was felt, not just watched. Epic!
Never heard of the scout before! Awesome video man ! Got a new subscriber.
welcome to the club!!
My first vehicle was a ponderosa pine green 73’ with 4x4 manual transmission and V8. I don’t think it could break 75mph flat out but it was absolutely superb offroad and on ice and snow with appropriate tries. I had more adventures than I can count in the scout. I had at real personal connection with the vehicle. Of the 30 vehicles I’ve owned over the years it is definitely in my top 3 favorite. Right up there with my 68 firebird and 57 Baja bug. The scout has a soul.
beautifully done! ⛰🛻
Dude the editing on this is top notch and the content absolutely awesome bravo!!! 👏👏👏
Fantastic cinematography and editing! Looks like it was shot on film. Good work!
thanks for watching, and the kind words!
fierce
Great…another channel I’m gonna have to binge watch lol.
Loved this. It felt very Bruce Brown or Warren Miller. The cinematography and the audio were fantastic.
thank you for this, means a ton!
Good video, thanks for sharing!
Glad he had that RTT, if he’d invested in a locker he wouldn’t have gotten stuck! 🤷♂️
Great stuff!
So good to see the crew and adventures back!
Some of the best off-road content I have seen in a long time, beautifully edited, I have literally watched this over and over. Keep up the great content.🤙
thank you!! Appreciate the love and support of the dream! We will keep them coming!
🤦♂️🤡🥴
Beautifully crafted video. You all caught the spirit of why we love these Scouts today!
thank you for the kind words!
Sadly VW bought International Harvest and they will be releasing their version of the Scout as an EV in 2026.
EV needs to go! I couldn’t help but think the same thing.
I’ve always been a Toyota fanboy. But the videography skills in this channel have made me a fan of the Scout community. Safe travels!
we appreciate the support!
Toyota is complete garbage
Thank you all for sharing this adventure. Having spent the better part of adulthood in the blackhills, devils tower etc., and owning 4 scouts from 1988 to the 2000's, off-roading with Scouts West and others. I miss having one every day, the joy, the heart ache and tinkering to "what was that noise?" in a deafening crescendo of squeaks, rattles, bangs and "oops, spilled my coffee". To the overall pleasure of it all! I have WONDERFUL memories and plan to make more in another at age 63. Be well, safe travels!
Absolutely friggin awesome showing of families enjoying their beasts, notabronco.
thanks for watching!
I wish i would have known this was going on i would have met you guys! and brought my 1973 Scout ii
I was rebuilding and modifying Scouts for about 20 years. Then one day I sold them all and got into adventure and dual sport motorcycles.
Saw two of these rigs a couple weekends ago heading south on the 14. Beautiful film btw.
Just one complaint. Rooftop tents! Really where’s the army surplus canvas? Just kidding excellent video and an astounding heard of Scouts! Thought I was going to say Bronco didn’t you, but I donuts know the name of a group of bad a vintage metal like those.
Before I got my drivers license my grandpa gave me an old scout very old scout. I don’t remember the year but the driver and passenger seat was a sheet metal bench, seat and back, with cushions sitting on it. He said if I got it driving I could have it. New clutch, fluids, starter, battery distributor and……I got it running. Then he sold it. I’ve wanted one ever since, many decades ago. Love your video!
Love this video!! You should come do an adventure up in norcal sometime. Maybe a usal beach offroad adventure? a tahoe excursion with the IH parts guys would be fun too.
Another awesome video!
i had a 1965 got a 1961 now and 1963 with snow plow go up a tree if ya are brave enough
