The 7ft (2.1m) bronze statue is England's first permanent memorial to Queen Elizabeth II. It was unveiled on Sunday 21st April 2024 and was commissioned by the Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland and funded by donations from businesses and members of the public. The statue has caused controversy locally over who is to pay for its upkeep... and some people don't like it - a recent Daily Telegraph article...
