Testing aliexpress JQ green 60 grit resin lap vs plated lap on CZ
Переглядів 6365 місяців тому
I've not been sponsored. It cuts fast, it does not wear (plated lap are done after 10-15 stones), it's not wobbly and quite flat (not that important for a 60 grit lap tho). Cuts a little slower than a plated lap. It produces a surface finish similar to a 320 grit plated lap. it has become my main big grit lap due to it's low price and probably infinite lifespan.

That 395nm 3W UV lamp was very hot on my hand, wonder if it's bad or not. first time doing frosted edges, very fun to make.

This took 14h to make, each side reacted differently to prepolish and polishing due to differences in materials.

I'm a beginner hobby faceter, I might be doing it wrong, this video is for getting criticism
Nice cutting. Can also highly recommend 'Stargazing' from Volume 1.
Beautiful gem. You should narrate with your own voice though, I'm sure it's much nicer than this AI-generated track.
Exquisite. Excellent Meet Points and a stunning gemstone. I personally dislike cutting CZ. It's hard on laps and can be a pain to polish.
Do you use oil on your diamax lap?
Hi,,thanks
Hello!, could you please send me the link for your JQ Green sintered lap?, i've been trying to find it with no luck
that is an awesome stone.
Wonderful .. great work!!
Wow that's beautiful and interesting works to do
Very interesting
Funniest part was in the first 5 seconds "Ayyleee express"
this is the kind of stone you'd see get stolen from museums in heist movies, amazing work!
My wife divorced me after watching your UA-cam video.
Now do 'Ophelia' by Arya Akhavan in clear CZ. I cut one to around 26ct over a year ago and I still pick it up and fiddle with it on a weekly basis as its just mind-bogglingly beautiful. You'll have to do a much smaller girdle than what's on this one though.
the render look amazing on this one, I will try
Can you faceting a kidney stone?
probably lol
tak 👍🏻✌🏻 o wiele trudniej pokonać ludzką zazdrość & głupotę inwestorów & graczy na geudach z ich głobalnym 💎cyrkiem🥺🤷🏻🏌🏻🤣
Never knew cz could look this good. Wow!

I really like watching this but have no idea what you're talking about.
Keep watching. You'll become one of us.
“Lapping” is a method of precise polishing used in gemstones and razor edges.
What the hell is Ally express? Is this ai text to speech?
Chinese website similar to amazon but cheaper
yeah text to speach, I'm French, my english accent is awful
That'd good work there bud 🎉
It is just perfect. I adore watching this kind of beautiful art and the result of it at the end. I just wish one day I can get a machine and do make it a hobby for myself. Thanks for sharing SIR.
I would like to try cutting this design. Do you have the cutting diagram you could post?
it's from Andrew Ian Brown book 1 page 30, you can get it on amazon
Hello. I want to try that same lap on my UTv5, but i can't find it on aliexpress. Could you share the link?
Is that an aluminum lap ?
Tin lap
Cool video! Keep it up this is a great idea.
Hi 👋 👍👍👍🔎🌎
Hello, that stone is beautiful. I was curious about how much your set up cost you and what machine you're using? I want yo get into this hobby, but I think it's gonna be a while before I can get a decent machine.
I use an ultra-tec v5, very expensive but it is considered as one of the best, there are cheaper machines, like the sterling arount 2000$ The sterling is a handpiece machine while the ultratec a mast machine, if I had to do it all over again I think I would get the sterling because in the end, even with a very precise machine everything is done by eye, and a handpiece machine can grind the table (flat part) more easily. after that you need laps (diamond wheels). here I used a jq green resin lap 60 (100$), then a copper lap with 600 diamond paste (200$) then a batt lap with 3K paste (250$) then a diamax with 60k diamond paste (200$) Those laps will last forever and the diamond paste is cheap. the material was synthetic spinel, with 50$ you get enough material to make 9 of these gems (which are very big, 21mm), if you made smaller ones you could make much more out of this. there is a vevor kit that can be enhenced for 500$ total, but from what I've seen, it's not very good
