SOOO privileged to have these in your backyard...love watching ❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite eating game bird ! Hands down
We have lots of Quail where I live in the Northern California Sierra Nevada foothils. When I lived over on the central coast of California, we had lots and lots of them there as well. They are one of my favorite birds.
Wow it's so cute ❤❤
Hsas y elegantes, codornices le llamamos en Sonora, buen día

Aww the baby 😍😍😍
Tons of quails in the foothils where im from. Love seeing them running around.
I planted separate male female kiwi vines that developed into a huge rookery for the California Mountain Quail on place. It intertwined on some posts, rails, and poles to the size of 8' ft. high, 10' ft. wide, and 16' ft. long trellis. There were about a dozen of the grey breasted with brown and black feathers that lived, roosted, and nested on the entangled long vines. Occasionally a female wood hatched about 12 chicks and would run around eating low flower pods. They even ventured in the horse and mini donkey corrals to pick up the seed from the hay we threw out. Very distinctive calls, chirps, and gobblegrunts came from their beaks and throats. Redtail Hawks would cruise the area to try to catch one. Was a site to see along with the wild bronze breasted turkeys with purple heads, red waddles, and a 6" long tail of a beard. Thanks for the clips of some of them coming iut of their egg shells.
Ah the music note bird
HI , Thank you for sharing. I am really blessed, for I get to see quails almost every day. I live right by the Beautiful Smith River in Crescent City, CA. It is so much fun to watch them and really is relaxing. We have chipmunks 🐿 also. I can name all sorts of cute animals, birds, and even foxes . Also, river otters . Thanks again
Imagine seeing this bird 🐦 at a state park in California.

Such beautiful birds one of nature's rare gems

Used to live in the Okanagan, British Columbia. These dudes were a highlight. My parents called their little calls "Chicagos" for some reason, don't remember why. Love them
When I think of quail, I see this bird.
I remembered Professor Hanson, said "Listen for its call, Chicago" and by George, I heard it! Warmed my heart because my maternal grandpa lived in Chicago! C-h-i-c-a-g-o! Thought it might even have worn a tiny "Cubs" baseball cap🧢🐓.
I'll always remember seeing a California quail family (near JPL, Pasadena, 50 years ago), 6 chics following in a line, ... till the day I die, I am thankful to God for creating them🕊🙏
I think the Allen’s Hummingbird should be classified as the state bird of California. The quails seems to have completely disappeared and forgotten. I will ask the Governor of California to make a switch from the quails to the hummingbirds.
What are you talking about? The quails have NOT dissappeared! They are all over the state. Hummingbirds are awesome but they shouldn't be the state bird.
Ever since moving to the east coast of the US I have been missing several things, chief among them are the calls of wild quail. (also maple bar donuts)
I always loved their little crowns, they are so cute!
I love their noise. These are the quail we have here in eastern Washington state.
I've been searching for this bird sound for years and everytime I watch the grand Chaparral I didn't know it was a Quail sound I thought it was Apache sound
There's one outside my window right now!
Tiene huevos para bender
They're so cute!
😂❤❤❤🕊️🕊️🕊️🇨🇱
CUTE
I'm from Chile and these quails were introduced in 1864, Central Chile has a climate similar to California and they became extremely abundant. I've hunted a few myself and they go great with any recipe that calls for chicken. Lovely birds, I love seeing them.
I use to have California quail in my neighborhood they dissappear after urbanization
I've lived in California my whole life and have only seen them twice! Saw them running and flying across a road a few days ago in rural Benton, CA. I just love their little "Chicago!" call.
Yes, it is fantastic not to be directed to those damn hunting videos!!! It's wonderful to see these beautiful birds running around with their babies freely and without fear of being killed!
You're from ?
