Easiest Chicken Pilau With famous Kachumbari
SIMPLA CHICKEN PILAU :
INGREDIENTS :
- Boneless chicken cubes - 500 grams
- Vegetable oil - 4 tbsp
- Butter or margarine - 2 tbsp
- Chopped onions 🧅 - 2
Green chili whole - 2 pieces
- Cardamom pods - 4 pieces
- Black peppercorns - 10 pieces
- Cinnamon sticks - 4 pieces
- Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Ginger paste - 1 & 1 /2 tbsp
- Garlic paste - 1 & 1/2 tbsp
- Salt 🧂 - 2 tsp or to taste
- Potatoes 🥔 - 2
- Basmati rice - 2 mugs
- Water - 3 mugs
- Lemon 🍋 juice - 2 tsp
Method :
- Heat a saucepan , add oil, margarine , green chili and onions , cardamom , cinnamon , black peppercorns , cumin seeds and onions 🧅 . Saute onions until translucent ( 2 minutes )
- Add garlic paste ,ginger paste , salt and cook for 2 minutes .
- Add chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes. Add potatoes and cook for 5 minutes .
- Add water and then lemons 🍋 juice . Let the water come to boil and then add pre soaked rice . ( rich was washed and soaked for 20 minutes .
Make sure you discard the water of rice before add to the chicken .
- Let rice cook until warm absorbed fully and the put on steam on very low flame 🔥 for 15! minutes . ( cover lid of saucepan with a cloth and foil. Once rice is cooked , off the flame and let it rest covered for further 15 minutes and then remove the lid .
- Your yummy pilau is ready , serve with kachumbari .
Enjoy making super simple chicken pilau in just 30 minutes .
HOW TO MAKE KACHUMBARI :
- 1 chopped onion 🧅
- 1 chopped tomato 🍅
- Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Mild red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt 🧂 - 1/4 tsp or to taste
- Lemon 🍋 juice - 2 tsp
- Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl .
- Tastes for everything and adjust accordingly .
- Enjoy ☺️ yum yum kachumbari with pilau .
