How do you get reference images into shapelab lite? I know how to open it but not how to actually get images 😢
hi... i need tutorials for shapelab lite!!! i purchase the software but cant found tutorials for beginners
y que estén en español por favor 😃
Can I add a reference image without using a desktop application?
great to follow since since the beginning . i was expecting amazing future for Shapelab but not all this . congratulations
Thank you for following the journey of Shapelab for so long, and for the kind words! :)
Idk… by me the pressure didnt work with my pen from my XPpen
Is this application a one time payment or is it a monthly type thing?
From what I understand, you get updates until the end of the calendar year. If you bought it in the last week of 2024, you get a few days of support. If you bought it at the beginning of 2025, you'll have a year of updates. This is a really weird system, especially considering the discounts they made at the end of 2024. On the other hand, it's kind of cheap... Devs still need to be clearer.
It would be nice to use a traditional keyboard and pen tablet with the desktop mode and still view the screen in VR. Why reinvent the wheel when you can merge the main strengths of controllers and viewing devices.
¡Saludos! 🖤 Translation to English: I bought your application because I find it fantastic for my sculpture project that I’m starting, where I will use it as the main foundation with Quest Pro to later print in resin. There’s something I feel would greatly enhance the app’s usability. It might sound silly, but while sculpting, being "outside my workshop" unsettles me a bit. I’d feel more comfortable feeling like I’m still in my comfort zone, meaning seeing my workshop in passthrough. I saw a video where this feature can be emulated using Virtual Desktop, which would be great if it weren’t for the fact that VD requires the PC to be connected via cable to the modem. So, if you could find a way to offer passthrough natively, it would be a very significant improvement for the end user, especially since the tools you currently provide are already excellent. Enhancing them today doesn’t make as much of a difference as giving us a "comfort zone," which is our own space instead of an impersonal virtual space. This would undoubtedly put you ahead of everything currently available for artists. I hope you take this comment into account; I’m 100% betting on you with this. XD The app is amazing. Cheers! 🖤
Haaa....if you work on it, don't forget to put an adjustable light point since in my case I have a large window on one side that clearly defines the light point, so a base point above in XR wouldn't make much sense.
Still would love to see something completely unorthodox that would be wildly productive: ShapeLab ported to PS5. It’s a PC with a very lightweight OS not hogging the hardware resources like modern desktop OS’. It has the largest single hardware spec userbase of VR users, the largest userbase of VR users has access to eye tracked Dynamic Foveated rendering making it even more efficient with system resources and with VR based PSSR coming soon it would make a hardware based upscaler like DLSS available to VR users, which will double down on resource management efficiency and be an industry first. Shapelab Devs would be able to push Shapelab farther and faster on PS5 than they can within the current paradigm on contemporary desktop/laptop PCs.
Honestly, yeah, bringing this kind of thing to a console might be disruptive in a good way and might catch the attention of artists who had otherwise assumed 3D art is completely beyond them.
@@stereo.1 While I can understand your position the reality is that when you scratch below the surface the Meta VR strategy hasn’t resulted in the adoption of sales of games or software and the adoption among sculptors is extremely low. Beyond that performance innovation is NOT being offered by Meta at a price point that most artists are comfortable spending. Aside from appearances the Quest Pro (now dead) was feature comparable to PSVR2 costs more than a PSVR2 and a PlayStation 5 Pro combined and again with the innovation Sony is offering dollar for dollar with the PS5/PSVR2 is better value for money. Most people buy the Meta VR HMDs and then put them in their closet after a month never to be seen again. Conversely people use their PS5’s daily, which would be a reminder to always get back into VR sculpting.
@ To be clear, I own a Quest 3, a PSVR2, was able to demo a friend’s Quest Pro and it’s based on that experience I came to this conclusion. The Quest 3 is not “better” than the PSVR2 from what I’ve seen. A lot of people won’t buy a second hand “used” Quest 2 after someone has likely sweated the headset up playing beat saber or whatever. It’s not all that different than buying used underwear. Eye tracked Dynamic Foveated rendering is a feature that uses only 50%-60% of the resources a PC would use giving it back to the PS5 for whatever additional functionality is needed and the PS5 is already as powerful as the average gaming PC. When Sony introduces PSSR that will cut down how much processing is necessary for VR even more giving that much more processing for more dense meshes in something like Shapelab, LAYERS, more active tools, more stability. Aside from that the OLED offers deeper blacks than LCD and more vivid colors than LCD which helps with better depth perception and object separation. The ergonomics of the USBc cable coming out the side of the Quest 2 is also not ideal. I don’t know that good VR sculpting capability will come to standalone for many years as you can only have so heavy a battery, hard drive, memory etc. sitting on your head. The best thing is to take advantage of all the technology that’s available now. Porting Shapelab to PS5 for PSVR2 wouldn’t have an adverse effect on Shapelab 2024 for Quest.
We really need a new way for importing ref images into the light version please 😢
This software is garbage. It is 70$ and now they made a quality patch, with features that should be included into software and sell that sh*t for additional 35$.
Bro we pay 440$ a year for zbrush, this is a steal
@Sssseytha z brush is not vr sculpting software. Z brush has 100 times more functionality. How is this even an argument 🤣
This is amazing! Thank you so much for featuring artists in your content :) I'm so stoked for Shapelab 2025!
Is there transparent layers?
Thankyou. How about when sculpting your primitives? How do I set things up so I can sculpt the whole figure as one?
Don’t know if I just missed it but how do you toggle on the symmetry sculpting? I’ve never used any program like this before.
Can we get reference images on the standalone version please !
You can add reference images in Shapelab Lite. You have to save your images here: PC\Quest\Internal shared storage\Android\data\com.leopoly.shapelab\files\ShapeLab and then in the app go to File menu and 'add image'.
@ShapelabVR thank you! Should make the process easier though
@@ShapelabVR this is not accessible on the headset, I'm assuming this filepath is only accessible when connected to PC which kind of defeats the purpose of stanalone
@@ModerateDevcannot agree more, I was searching so hard for a solution and have t found a solution yet, we should just be able to import our browser into shapelap or something.
VR? No thanks.
Bro why even respond?
It's so much more fun in VR
Great feature. Which format would you recomend for a file export that maintains parenting, to use in blender or rhino, for instance?
Shapelab keeps getting better and better, love it.
Add reference pictures into stayAlone version for OculusQuest3. PLease :)
Awesome!
What time is the launch in the UK to try 2025 version :)
it was at 4 pm GMT yesterday, we hope you didn't miss it :)
Would love to see something like 3DCoat’s voxel hide tool.
The parametric primitives rework looks so intuitive! It'll be so much easier to use, I'm looking forward to that!
I would like to know if this tool is able to add bones like in animation programs or do you plan to implement it?
You can't add bones in Shapelab unfortunately, and it is not in our short-term plans. If you'd like to request a feature, you can do it via our form: leopoly.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/3/create/33
AccuRig. Put the character in A-Pose and it takes like 2 minutes to rig.
Very helpful.
Looking forward to the 2025 version :)
Can you please tell me how to get my exported files from the standalone app on vr meta quest 3 to my computer?
I like the wireframe option.
HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU ADD YOUR OWN IMAGES???????? WHERE ON THE ITNERNET IS THE ANSWER FOR THIS?? AND HOW TO ADD YOUR OWN MODELS?? PLEASEEEEE
Hi, you can add images by pointing to the file icon on your left controller, in the dropdown panel select add images. You can add jpgs, pngs. Adding your own model is in the same dropdown panel at import model. You can import fbx, obj, glb, stl. Hope this helps!
HOW TO IMPORT YOUR OWN MODELS OR IMAGE? I REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND ?? THERE IS NO ANSWER ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS
