For anyone watching... Skip this exercise. Side planks are complete garbage. Half the time you can't even do the exercise because your constantly losing balance and rotating to one side or another or your feet slip or shift and your balance is lost completely. By the time you actually do 5 side planks you have actually trained your legs, arms, shoulders, back muscles, calves, etc. Everything EXCEPT THE OBLIQUES. For an oblique targeted exercise... This is a complete dud and waste of time. SKIP.

You can do so many other core ab exercises that are simply better or get more cut overall than waste time on tiny irrelevant obliques. It's a bullshit excercise wasting time. It also makes your waist look bigger = you look fat.
First of all, train your balance. Secondly, you’re doing it wrong if it’s not targeting the correct muscles. Do some simpler exercises and try to strengthen your core before performing the side bridge twists again.

Bro absolutely! If you are concerned about the movement, scale it back to a basic plank and focus on keeping the upper back flat (no shoulderblade protrusion) and focus on time under tension 👍🏾
