Does anyone got any clear photos or video still shots of him?
Dios, me encanta como anima a Mario Hugo Es tan lindo
This museum definitely has given a new life to American pop icons in their own right!
Looks like Schneider from One Day At A Time.
Look at inflation now. Comedy was great back then.
I would treasure an autograph. AFN played Chickenman episodes every morning in Germany while I was enlisted. I do not think, and I am being honest and loving towards those episodes, that I could have survived what I went through without.... ...my white winged warrior.
The interstitial music was simply dreadful. The product values -- "quaint." Still, of considerable interest due to subject matter, perspective, and the small coincidence that I have lived along this stretch of Woodlawn Ave for longer than anywhere else in my life. This streetscape has changed remarkably little since 1961 --- 62+ years.
Johnny B. was the best of the best 👏
Boy he sure can talk! Brilliant man. I’m curious how this found its way to You Tube.
Bob -- Bob Sirott? YOU, sir, should talk!
This reminds me of Hilarious House of Frightenstein. A Canadian kids show that ran in syndication in the Northeast in the early 70's. Jerry Bishop even sounds exactly like Billy Van. They both had that hippy vibe too. Also that horn sound at 0:31 was a regular gag.
I love how he mispronounced their names
Almighty Yin
I had an experience very much like this in 1993. Leave it to Steve Allen to make show of it.
Fascinating to see him drive around my Hyde Park neighborhood. My mom went to HPHS with him. Mel Torme, also.
Chicken man a wonderful production. I’m currently lobbying my local radio community station to broadcast the Chicken man episodes again.
I lived the first 50 years of my life in Chicago. I now live in Tacoma for craps sake. But the only things I miss from my days in the Windy City are my 5 brothers and Johnny B. Johnny B. was the SH!T. IS the SH!T. Especially 1985 During the Bears awesome season. Johnny even played my tribute song to Mr. Scambo prank phone calls called "You're Scammin' me. The audio is on my channel. Love you Johnny.
The only time I heard him was once when I visited Chicago. It was 1985. I started taping the show half an hour in and never heard anything like it again in my life.
I can’t answer the phone right now, I’m in the can Burning a mule.
Jim shorts that Butt Wadd
The fact that Cissy says Facebook floors me!! I can't believe that she is living in our times. I just finished the whole series, and it's crazy to me that they went from nothing like what we have today, to our current technology. That's so cool!! Kathy if you ever see this, please say hi. Love you!!❤
Cab was too cool to have to do this.... yeeesh
..... Thanks for this gem. Looks like Jun 9, 1950 was the telecast date. TV logs show it was also aired in several other markets around the country over ABC.
Excellent and very inventive for a television station to run such a promo...
Why couldn't you help Anissa??😔
Her triumphant return as Alice’s mother is legendary. The Comic is a masterpiece
She is mentally unstable. That is an understatement.
She is funny and upbeat. Classy and sweet
THE BACK AND FORTHS SOUND LIKE THE COOKIE AND BOZO BLOOPERS AND ADLIBS.
Insanity; when you ask yourself questions and you answer to yourself! 🤣
Cab needed money....for the track.
Bruh lmaoooo bro bet all his savings in that stuff💀💀
Dick Orkin, RIP, was a cousin of mine, and I used to listen to Chicken Man before I knew that.
Someone should remake this so the new Sven gets in the right chair and replaces old Sven so they are both talking to each other.
Svengoolie was hilarious. Me & my little brother never missed his show when we were kids. One of the perks of growing up in the Chicago burbs.
Bore fest
Johnny-B...a GOAT of radio and Chicago! 🐐
I'm looking for the founder Nick. I think that's him way off to the left.
Wait, what in the world kind of sandals is he wearing???! 😆
The pauses make this horrible
ABC, and many of its stations were long in third place, fourth in some cities behind independents, before the late 60's. Someone finally decided to put the calls of the city's popular radio station on TV after WENR and WBKB, and the revitalized WLS-TV was born. Frank Reynolds eventually split for New York and anchoring the network's nightly news.
Very sweet lady. Harshly lit stage!
Still so pretty.
This is the way Dennis actually sang. The guy singing lead on their hits is not Dennis. He’s a ringer. The guy on the records has an adult, raspy voice. I have listened to Dennis’ recent live performances. He sounds like the Dennis on this video. Studios did all kinds of tricks.
*CHUCKLE!*
14.33 ... I woke up like this ❤🤣🤣🤣 Flawless 😍
Back before the cancel culture parasites, when we actually had freedom of speech, and people weren't thin skinned Karen's! Great times back then!
So enjoyed this video, most especially hearing and seeing Mr. Orkin again. I had the great pleasure of growing up in the neighborhood where he and Mrs. Orkin raised their 4 kids. Our backyards touched ('kiddie-corner') and his eldest daughter was among my first best friends. She remains dear to me today. Just 2 quick, memories to share, relevant, I hope! 1 was when a bunch of us were in my backyard (early 70's), and Mr. Orkin ran across the lawn(s) to hand deliver t-shirts for newly launched 'Tooth Fairy', his radio serial that ran subsequent to Chicken Man. Somewhere there is a film of that moment- several kids and Mr. Orkin, dancing on the patio delighted with our new t's. What a joy it would be to find that footage. The other memory is also from the early 70's, when his daughter Lisa and I went to work with him one Saturday. Mr. Orkin had to record a commercial 'downtown' (we lived in the 'burbs). We thought it would be fun to be in a recording studio, tho it was made clear we'd need to be quiet. And it was fun, and educational. For the first several hours. But, wow....it took what eventually seemed forever. And, so I'm not surprised that to this day, nearly 50 years later, I remember the jingle. It was literally burned into my developing brain, and went thusly- ' If you're out there on your lawn, and your mower won't go on, and even your grass is GGRREEIVVVINN'. Then you ought to buy a Lawn Boy, it's something to believe in'! If you've watched this video all the way through, you've heard of son Haris and heard an advert featuring, his daughter Lisa. Rest assured, Mike and Lynne are likewise uber talented. I was a lucky girl indeed to have known his kindness, humor and, kids. Thank you for sharing this video.
Kathy should have her own show. Kathy should be at the forefront when discussing issue of child stars/performers. The traps, the pitfalls, lessons learned from other fallen stars etc (members of their family on show). Anissa Jones alone is reason enough for Kathy to have her own show biz type show. Who better than Cathy Garver. (The absolute Spine of the show, of Family Affair).
Even on the show Cathy accepted her role with grace, style and class. Played her character to the hilt. More than anyone else you believed the Cathy Garver character.
Kathy was the Spine of the show.
Please tell me Wolfman Jack is somewhere in there. <3
He became too big for his britches. Last show on WLUP with Steve Dahl. He got Bruce Wolf fired. I he would like if someone went out of their way and did to him.
LOVE/HATE story hysterical. 14:45. A possible mis step IN parenting by one Kathy Garver. To be determined at a later date.
Kathy's special.
