The story here is that the rival TV company is demolishing the entire city with you in it triggering every dormant power play and it is upto you to escape.

It's sad this game got canceled, but from a business standpoint Disney did what they always do. The game sold poorly, so they scrapped this and shutdown Blackrock. I bought this game at launch for my Xbox 360. Don't blame Disney, blame everyone who didn't buy this game, because it sold miserably. Blackrock studios deserved better for making such an amazing game.

Seeing this. The sequel definitely would've started with you taking off from the podium suddenly, then making your way to get out of that city, but i wonder if at the end of this video did it actually finish the race, or that was where the devs stopped and planned to work on more of the first level on their next day, but was facing the shutdown afterwards. Anyways since they planned to add characters in the game, they might've planned to have them explain to you what's going on after you escape and meet with them, then show a flashback to 1982, with the original crew working on set in the stock car race (or Nascar). Along with the pov of the rival network observing Split Second and making a show of their own, but was shelved due to the Split Second show having better ratings, then holding a grudge until their comeback happened in the first game, then said characters would plan to shut them down for good. Have you help out. Then that's it. That's my take on what would've been the plot of the sequel if they were still working on the game, or had more days to work on it before getting shutdown

This isn't just a simple point-to-point route, this looks to be some sort of "Escape" mode; You must dodge everything hurled at you, as well as build up your bars to time Shortcuts and Power Plays or die. This one could possibly be the intro event, taking place directly after the ending of the first game where you have to deal with a brand new threat. It's interesting to ponder on what this could imply, I think this could've meant the sequel was going to be more of an "action movie" with a slight focus on story, a contrast to the first entry being a "game show" without much plot at all!

Fuck. This looks intense. I like it. So I guess the part where you dive into the tunnel is where you escape. Also, I think the car that is used is a Ryback Mohawk, but I'm not sure.

It's too bad this never came to be they truly had something original. Disney could have made millions if they actually had a show of this too

If ss2 has released in the another universe, this would take over nfs, then fortnite's spot, we'll be seeing memes about every funny moments or funny glitches, free roam around the city, but then we'll still be called a Virgin just like fortnite kids but still would be better.

Can you imagine the split second sequel having a snowy mountain or clockworks level or even a world tour in a volcano and the massive power play is an avalanche or a volcanic eruption or the destruction of a giant clock tower like Big Ben. The possibilities are endless
