Manga Subaru WRX STI | Hot Wheels Quick Custom
Переглядів 1,6 тис.День тому
This was my attempt at a manga design on a Subaru WRX STI hatchback. I've seen a lot of these wraps online and wanted to try to replicate it on a Hot Wheels car. This STI was a perfect candidate since it was pretty much completely white to begin with. Once I got the car out of the package, I only used Sharpie markers for the design. Big shout out to @ethanwingsit for the inspiration! #hotwheels...

Thank you for the video! I’m new to this and I’d like to learn how to do my own oil changes and this helps a lot. Could you please go into more detail on how to remove the intake pipe?
Thanks for watching! Depending on where you’re from (US vs Europe), this could differ. I believe the 2015 and newer Abarth is slightly different as it doesn’t have one or both ports. If you have a stock tube, there will be a hose clamp at the top of the tube, closest to the firewall, and the bottom of the tube on the turbo. Use a flathead screwdriver or socket wrench (8mm I think). If you have the ports, the smaller one is just held on by a clamp that you can use pliers to pinch and remove. To remove the larger hose, you simply need to pinch the gray parts of the plastic couple and it should pull off the port.
@@Coronet777 thank you very much for the quick reply! I have a 2013 US abarth so it should be the same. Is there any risk in doing this? It seems easy and straightforward but I’m still new to all this
@@zenoncortez9050 It should be the same then! Be gentle as those small plastic tubes can be delicate. The main intake pipe is flexible and shouldn’t give you too much trouble. The car should be warm so the oil flows quickly but it should cool down at least a little before you begin. The engine compartment in these are so tight and you’ll be working close to the turbo.
I have an attitude, because i don't know how to fix rust.

Well shoot. My 500T also fights me getting into certain gears. I bought the same bushing kit and was going to do it on the weekend. Now I'm not so sure it's going to change anything for all that work! I've taken out the battery tray once before to install a Madness ECM..... I don't really wanna deal with the tray again for nothing.
@@csskiller It could very well work in your case! Something I neglected to highlight in the video was the process of removing the rubber bushing material and replacing it with the new insert. I ended up using a razor to cut out the old material. With a little bit of lubricant, the new insert popped in using only the force of me standing on it lol. I’ve got a short throw shifter mechanism and replacing the cup the shifter sits in. I think most of my trouble actually comes from the ends of the cables directly under the shift knob. They don’t have an aftermarket option and require replacement of the entire cable.
@@csskiller I also think that if I had a proper plastic clip removal tool for the tray wiring , taken the air box off, and had thought of using an open ended wrench to pop the ends of the shifter cable off, it wouldn’t saved me some time in the end. Either way, even with the tray removed, it’s a tight squeeze but also cheap insurance that those parts are taken care of.
I just did this last weekend! Super easy mod but super useful if you fiddle with the hood open.

@@thelacityguy818 I had the same experience with first gear. It happens from time to time after I go into 1st and 2nd, then back to 1st. As for reverse, I’ve read that there aren’t synchros on that gear (I could be wrong). Before you shift into reverse, move the shifter into 1st gear and then reverse and it won’t ever grind.
Why 2 its tiny bonnet holds with one 😂😂😂😂😂

niiiiiiccccceee I want one like this... we get very cold winters, I'm curios how will it handle the snow tbh because i want to use it then
Thanks for watching! I’ve actually never driven it in the snow. It was an Arizona car most of its life and I garage it when the snow flies. I believe all Abarths have an electronic limited slip differential. That plus some snow tires, I bet it’d do okay 😁
@@Coronet777the Abarth is an open diff, which is why you get noticeable torque steer. They drive ok in snow with good all season tires or dedicated snow tires, the ground clearance can be an issue with heavy/deep snow
@@asqueezy thanks for setting me straight on the differential! I think I got that idea from an old MotorTrend article. They were talking about it in conjunction with the torque transfer control system
