Revell Chrom Spray is the closest I've ever seen for an actual chrome spray paint, but its expensive.

Is this supposed to be applied directly to bare metal? If so, what's the ideal way to prepare the bare metal in order to have the best adhesion possible? I assume all corrosion would be removed, but beyond that, what else needs to be done before applying the Zinc spray?
@redondoBeach2 Nothing is need to be done before. Directly apply to the metal
Hey Im 8 days late but this ^ Bad Advice 100%. If you want the best adhesionvand actually long lasting results remove the rust first with something like phosphoric acid, vinegar, evaporust, use a wirebrush or sandpaper to get ALL rust off. Wipe off all the oil with break cleaner or isopropyl alcohol then spray. Also shake the can longer than this to get better consistency.
@@infernaldaedra What are your thoughts on lightly scuffing car paint and then applying zinc to the primer coat? I'm reluctant to sand to bare metal. The car has no rust and the primer coat is still in tact. The base coat of paint is badly faded. There's no rust on the car. I'm unsure if the zinc coat is only designed to be applied to metal or if it can effectively be applied to primer or even lightly scuffed paint. Thanks for your feedback.
@@RedondoBeach2 Zinc is for steel. It's a DTM coating. It is not a paint and it is not a primer. Are you talking about automotive paint? If it's the paint that is faded and not completely chilled though through you can just buff the paint with compound, try a wet magic eraser, avoid going down to bare metal or the primer if you can. Don't go down to metal on a car it's not worth whatever your thinking and will result in rust developing much sooner. If you want a strong primer bond you can try Automotive Acid Etch primer which is very easy to use and is sandable. I can see no reason why you would want to use zinc coating on paint.
@@infernaldaedraHi, I have a rust build up inside of a long and winding hollow steel frame. It's hard to reach to mechanically remove rust before coating. Any suggestions how can I prep the frame ?

I'm painting an iron grill in my home, do i need to sand between coats of Synthetic enamel paint? If yes, then what grit? Thank you
Synthetic enamels are awful paints. Montana makes a very realistic chrome, super mirror effect almost as good as Alclad chrome, but it never cures rendering it absolutely useless. Steer clear of these synthetic enamels
