Also, I heard a few planes fly by on the way up, do they have the ability to see these so that they know to avoid that area? Also, the moments switching between calm and chaos on the way down really spoke to me 😂

So many questions, I love it! • Sound was an accident, I forgot it had a built in mic (not disappointed)! • Yeah, The waveform of the audio is pretty weird looking to be sure! I agree that it was more wind than I expected as well! • The parachute doesn't deploy, it has an attachment point on the top that connects to the balloon, and then a series of attachment points all connected at the bottom, so as soon as it starts moving downward, it will open up...It's basically just tied in-line between the balloon and payload. Assuming the balloon breaks away cleanly and doesn't weigh enough to fall first, and wrap itself around a dice-box and pull the top of the parachute under the bottom it will open that is....... Thank goodness that cleared itself or it would have been a very fast descent!! • This video is the SD card from the camera itself, not something recorded on the ground... so at least PART of it was recovered.... (teaser!) • I'm not sure about max height, but there are balloons that are much larger and much thicker that aren't meant to pop so much as eventually lower back down on their own. Some experiments can be up orbiting the earth (at some altitude) for weeks or months! • I already added a 360 camera to my Amazon wishlist (Thanks to TimeWasterSebi for the idea during stream Tuesday!) and have a few ideas on how to change the flight profile to make next year's fun in a different way! Check out this 360 flight if you want to see what it might be like: ua-cam.com/video/XPweRTljgG4/v-deo.html • I have a few ideas for the box...or even a way to possibly not have a box... • We submitted our flight to the FAA prior to launch (even though we're under the required minimum weight to HAVE to report it) so local airports knew about it, but the chances of a plane hitting a 4 square-foot target when it's in their flight altitude for less than 2 minutes is astronomical. There are rules about the breaking strength of the line though, in case it does hit an engine/propellor... It has to be able to break before it breaks any plane parts. • Right? ?

Yeah, I'll talk about that in the edited video coming soon (tm), but when we glued the box top on, the glue somehow managed to stick to the edges of the box wherever fingers had touched it on the inside... Some combination of the sun/heat and the glue and the confined space... But we couldn't re-open the box to fix it and we didn't have a spare with us!

It was a ton of work, but so worth it!

Yeah! I haven't watched every moment yet, but it sure was stable through so much of the flight! I think it was a combination of centrifugal force and those screw heads (I'm already coming up with plans to remove those next year,,,Should have listened to Seth on that one!). It rolled a TON on takeoff, but not nearly as much on landing!
