Everyone has one side of the body stronger than the other. It’s not so much muscular strength, more so that your brain sends a stronger signal to a particular side on each muscle group. It doesn’t always correlate to the side you may use more often either. There are some cool little neuro hacks you can do to even it out, but that’s too much for me to be bothered explaining

You can try the glute one which is the most obvious and fun to demonstrate. Get someone laying flat on their front with arms by their side and legs straight. Have them raise one leg while bent at the knee. Then support their lower back and push down on their hamstring while having them resist and attempt to keep their knee off the floor. One side will be super strong and the other will give very little resistance. To fix it, them take the hand from the same side of their weaker glute and push the back of their head while at the same time chopping their pec/armpit area with their other hand. Then try the test again on their weaker glute and they will then be able to have similar strength as stronger side. This beats all glute activation exercises and makes you realise everyone is essentially reinforcing imbalances every time they train

Is it really a problem for one side to be stronger than the other though? Like, why limit the strength of your stronger side by the strength of your weaker side? Our bodies are asymmetrical anyways. Our heart is to one side, our liver is to one side, our stomach is to one side, and most of what we do in life is also asymmetrical. I don't think having slightly asymmetrical strength is necessarily a bad thing.

Again, not that trying to get them symmetrical is wrong, just that it probably doesn't really matter. And for me personally if last year my arms were 17" and 17.5", and all year I've been working to build them symmetrically, and now they're both 18" I'd obviously be pleased with that progress, BUT I'd personally be even more pleased if one was 18" and the other was 18.5"
