I was tidying up and cleaning a stack of records I picked up recently from a friend's garage, where I stashed them almost 20 years ago and had completely forgotten about them.. when I picked up this one I immediately recognized the cover and knew it was one of my "bangers", but couldn't recall the music.. I dusted it off, put it on, and needed exactly 2s to recall this riff.. it's one of those riffs that get stuck with you for your whole life, one that would have people screaming in excitement as soon as they heard it on the dancefloor.. what a great record.

I got introduced to Andy Caldwell through releases on OM Records and Naked Music in the early 2000s. I particularly loved, and played in my gigs extensively, Miguel Mig's and Marques Wyatt's remixes of "I can't wait", however, a few years later, as I got my hands on his "Universal Truth" album, I fell in love w/ this - the original album version - the most.. I can be ridiculously irrational at times.. I bought this special edition double-vinyl "Solo: a Star Wars story" OST just for this track :D truly. I was a bit disappointed tho, as I expected it would contain the "revised" version of it, where Luleo Primoc is singing in a deep alto voice.. it's just better.

"Man next door" is my favorite Mezzanine song.. for me, there are "Massive Attack tracks", and "Massive Andy songs". this one takes the crown as far as the latter are considered.

This Massive Attack's rework of Marvin Gaye's "I want you" is one of my favorite tracks. Albeit I don't really care much for Madonna, her vocal prowess, nor music, this collab is truly something else. I consider the orchestration to be one of Craig's most emotive and elegant ones.. it's truly a timeless masterpiece.

yo, sorry. these are gone for 20+ years.. I only got 2 copies myself, one horribly warped, which I framed, and this one in the video, that I had in my gig case and got a lot of play in its time, so its quite worn out (hence the excessive crackling). occasionally it pops up in Discogs marketplace tho.
