Mike has pretty legs! Just saying!

I like these unboxing videos and, so far, have used them as references for reboxing and unboxing 2 pairs of large, heavy speakers.

My guess is #1 was SS and #2 was tube. I thought the bass sounded more real on #2, just more real in general… All I really care about is, does it actually sound like the real thing? So, #2 for me….

Can this be raked back or placed on stands to increase stage height? Any compromises to do that?

As a few folks intimated, this really doesn't show much. Not that the test is flawed or that the presenters are hiding anything it's just that; 1) The analyzer is a "black box" with no definition of what it is analyzing. What does it consider noise? Induced FM signal would certainly be noise, but probably does not impact the audible spectrum. 2) The last test should have had another power cable between the conditioner & analyzer which would be required from the conditioner to the equipment being powered. 3) If the noise is in the audible spectrum, what is its amplitude in either watts or DB? If it is less than "N" DB, it would be inaudible to even a dog. All the test showed was a percentage, if the base line noise (100%) is 2 DB reducing the noise to 0% is meaningless. 4) The filters built into all power supplies in electronic equipment are there to filter out noise. How much do they reduce the noise? I suppose a test which MIGHT make sense would be to put a scope on the power rail of a piece of moderately priced equipment and measure the noise in absolute values in the 3 situations provided. For additional fun feed a pure sine wave signal at a relatively low frequency through a preamp & amplifier into a non inductive load. With a dual scope, connected to the input of the preamp and output of the amplifier, show what the signals looks like in the three scenarios. This last test MIGHT actually show if there is any difference which could potentially be audible.

Is it the Apheta 3 and is it using the internal Luxman phono stage? Is it a good match and powerful enough or would an Aria would be better?

How is the recording being made? These songs are such well-recorded tracks but don't sound nearly as great here. I'm sure UA-cam has a part in it, but some other channels seem to have much better youtube sound quality IME.

Let's get one thing straight right off the bat these two amps both sound fantastic paired with those awesome speakers. I listened several times before i could decide, in the end I had to pick 2 and I am not sure why I thought it had more realistic tonality like on cymbals and possibly knitted the music together better.😊

The fact that ripping a CD track and playing it from the streamer cancels the difference between the two sources makes me think the difference doesn't lie between streaming and CD per se, but rather between that particular streamer and that particular CD transport. That said, i do tend to agree that the fewer steps you have between source and speakers, the better off you are. Personally i don't stream. Partly because i fundamentally disagree with not owning your music and i hate the direction the whole music industry is heading with this, and partly because US regulators seem to believe that the best way to combat piracy in Latin America is to prevent people in these countries from having access to legal hi res streaming (go figure), which means Tidal, Qobuz etc are locked away... In my experience, comparing playback of the same track from a CD (Meridian 500 transport into Chord Qutest dac via coax spdif) with playback from the same track ripped to FLAC (regular PC into same dac via asynchronous usb, playback on WMP) reveals subtle differences (transport sounds more "liquid" if that makes any sense, vs a slightly "drier" presentation from the pc). However, both are equally satisfying and i'd be hard pressed to say which of the two is "better". Choice in this case would merely be a matter of preference tbh

Maybe 1 day you have coffee/caffeine, and another day you have whiskey/wine...this make difference what you hear, too. 😛 Also make Big Bertha look like Beauty Queen...until next day, LOL! Maybe she "burn-in" after some hours/days, too. 😛 Hope she not as $$$$ as the cables! It's more fun to "burn-in" your brain cells with the drinks and just enjoy our music than to wait for silly cables to magically change molecules structure and electric properties from "burn-in"?! We can go buy lots of good drinks/food and fly round world for months to see real LIVE concerts with our favorite musicians & singers for the price of some cables here! :) I still don't understand WHAT makes any good construction cable sound different, with or without the burn-in? Secrets of the universe me thinks...no one ever know or tell me secret! Maybe Jesus know everything but he never come here to tell me either?! He piss me off now! I'm musician...drums/percussion & saxophone 30 years...and go to pro recording studios. When I ask to change cables, they look at me funny and point to EQ knobs instead! I try, and WOW they DO change sound really nice instead of wait again for silly $$$$ cable to "burn-in" or change another cable again. Have cake and eat it too with EQ they say. :) What I do if my $$$$ cable "burn-in" WRONG direction and make sound worse and I stuck there with sh!tty unnatural sound of my drums and sax???!!! I go buy another $$$$ cable 10x again til find right one??? Which one perfect synergy in MY system, NO ONE tell me...got to buy buy buy buy! Everyone have my money now, not me! F' this rectangular noise! Again, let's go travel around world, eat & drink good and go to LIVE music...share good feeling experience with other people not sit at home "listening to cables" for $$$$ and looking at blank wall alone, so silly, haha! Cheers

its annoys me (as someone looking for a new disc spinner) that Luxman are terrible a matching aesthetics and case shape across their ranges. They have absolutely no components that have the same casework, button arrangement and colour schemes. I have the 509X also, and theres almost no disc spinner that actually looks like its properly matches in their range.

So, how did you go with the theta and gamma cables ? How did they stand in compare to their previous equivalent generation of cables ? Did you guys tried the USB cables as well?

It is apparent that many people who commented and said they hear no difference need to find a different hobby. Helen Keller would hear a difference.

The difference is obvious even on my laptop. The Deulund are nicely balanced but muffled, congested, as if a wool blanket over the speakers. The Nordost are open, clear, present, with space and air. Imaging with Deulund is left to right, that's about it. Imagine with Nordost the vocals and instruments occupy their own space in the sound stage with air around them. Not night and day but big enough it takes like 3 seconds to figure it out. The difference in price being worth the improvement is another matter. But the Nordost are clearly better, no doubt about it.

I listened to the song at 3:24 and at 7:10 both the exact same time in the song but different cables. I am not hearing much at all.

i just got an amazing Gold Note 1000 CS player and wth Paradigm speakers the sound of the CD is off the charts. I can actually "feel" the instruments
