Mykola Lysenko was a Ukrainian composer, pianist, conductor and ethnomusicologist. Because of the war in Ukraine, I was curious to look for Ukrainian classical music composers - which was how I came across this bitter sweet piece and got motivated to learn and share it. For peace and freedom from aggression, repression and oppression.
