Great performance. Iconic. One thing I am curious about ... This was in August, and you see lots of dudes shirtless, but hardly anyone is wearing shorts. Were shorts not fashionable in 1969?

Yesterday in a Marina in Lisbon a guy heard my Woodstock music on the boat and he freaked out. He asked for listening a moment and I suggested him to surf in UA-cam for Woodstock. He asked me from where was that band and I explained it was one of the first open-air concerts and instead of looking the videos of ticktock, to search for Woodstock. Hilarious that somebody doesn¿t knows what Woodstock was. Don't they teach that in school?

I was 16 during Woodstock , two years later I got my draft number ( 46 ) , my ass was going to be ' somewhere in Saigon" , but the second best President in my lifetime , Richard M. Nixon , stopped the draft and saved my ass . Thank you sir for the last 53 years you gave me , R.I.P.

This was one of the most important performances at the festival. It was a song that everybody knew as a kind of jokey, sing a long, but suddenly Joes performance and aggression weaponised it and made it the perfect engine of sedition. He had the perfect song, He knew how to put it across and He knew the consequences. Such a great man!!!

Those of us who went to South Vietnam were the real fools. The anti-war protesters were right.

The Vietnam war was run by a bunch of four star clowns who wound up giving the whole circus away. Vietnam veterans were betrayed by gutless politicians.🇺🇸

There is a clear cut difference between the Hippies and the Protesters of Today. Although they looked unkept, these were well-read and considerate kids who learned actual facts, and were reacting. Today, when they interview ANY protesters, none of them know exactly what they are fighting for . rather than a series of individual protests for individual and specific issues, which you would attend, like in the sixties, it is now alone "Narrative" that when picked apart makes no sense and has no real truth or actual facts attached to it . These were ALL smart kids, unlike the limited gamers and incels of today, who believe that the earth is flat and that bigfoot is real!

Haven’t heart this song in years. OMG it’s true again; we’re even going to be involved in Ukraine or the Middle East. The saving grace is it’s an all volunteer force for now. Let’s just see how many retrumplicans actually answer the call and join up.

Also if ya dig and enjoyed this song at Woodstock and still a hippy at 64 years old 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on UA-cam. 😀

While the basic goal was to protect South Viet Nam from being forced to be Communist, I deeply understand the rejection against - and toward - the "political--military BS that actually limited our valued troops from achieving the intended goal. To all of our Viet Nam vets: God bless you - Do not let foolish leadership hold you back: YOU know what through - you CAN deal with the govt horse shit. My thanks and respect.
