my son has broken the ridge raceer steering wheel by forcing it around in a circle .i do own a playstation steering wheel. wondering if this is a better option than fixing the stock wheel. ( if possible .)
i havent tried a playstation wheel i picked the xbox 360 wheel because i have several and they have the best feedback of the wheels i own and you can use the with a pc via the microsoft wireless adapter
I've always wanted one but, I'd no space. Then I seen this for €150 in a clearance sale and quickly made a space!
So the GRS trackball doesn’t fit on it then right?
The GRS trackball works on the 12 in 1 games cab. but dose not work on the new 14 in 1 Centipede cab. tried two of the GRS trackballs and they did not work.
Did you need to replace screen to work with pcb and encoder?
i did replace the screen big blue is a 4:3 BOE monitor the bezel size is different as well
How hard was it to mount the xbox wheel in there?
i tear apart controllers alot so i say easy but it depends on your level of tinkering, the hole that the original wheel went through on the control deck has to be enlarged but the plexi hole is large enough already. search ytube for 360 wheel bearing mod that fella has some good video of the wheel disassembly and reassembly..

that is the Ridge racer 6 game running on the Xbox 360 in the bottom of the cab
any issues with it? i'm looking at getting one today or tomorrow.
no issues i replaced the feet with rubber ones to stop it from sliding on the wood floor, it is a great cab

So what you did here was put a Gen1 monitor and PCB into the newer Legacy cabinet?
yes sir just gen 1 part monitor, pcb, and modified control panel. A 8 in 1 partycade may be a better selection BOE monitor i think but you will have to use the legacy control panel

It really is sad that we have to go to these lengths to get this cabinet the way it should've been done the first time. By the way, if you put the cabinet on a fridge cart, you'll get a 4" lift, which will give you a better sightline to the top of the screen, without the marquee blocking any of it. Thanks for sharing this.
i did add leveler leggs for a tad more height.

@@jonniefast Just my preference to stand and play, but there's nothing in the world wrong with sitting down to play a game. I do like the fact these cabs come with the option to put them on the floor without risers, because if someone is wheelchair bound, or are vertically challenged, they can still enjoy playing arcade games. Kids, too. :)

Very nicely done! I'm definitely going to do this mod with my Centipede Legacy. You're not missing anything from not having run yours. The TN monitor is nearly white, it's so out of contrast. Even when I put the cab on a 4 inch riser extension you still can't get the dark sweet spot in line with your eyes. Our only trade off, other than the loss of all the other games, is in the form of audio lag, which plagued the wave one cabinets. But, I'll take that over a game that's too small, and washed out, any day. I actually still have the wave one Centipede cabinet, so doing this mod is possible for me. I think the wave one control panel looks much cleaner, without all those extra buttons, and spinner. At least the contrast on the wave one is perfect, too. Thanks for sharing.
thank you , take your time cutting the wave 1 panel i was a hair skinny, a radial arm saw would be better than a table saw for the cut
@@joeguyver4348 Will do. I've seen some pretty rough edges from table saws, but then the blade had fewer teeth, and it was cutting ply. This particle board should cut much more smoothly.
Looks awesome, dude. That would fit the arcade so much better. So what about Marge and Lisa? Are they simply unplayable?
