I'm surprised that the the first two CS 4 events this is showing are definitely the ones where Rean did NOT romance Alisa. There's a distinct difference. It seems that on this save, the Alisa romance from CS 3 wasn't carried over.

A better approach to this might go a little something like this; Light continues to take L's Lind L. Tailor trap, but makes it into a whole scene that is death by proxy by making Lind have a freakout episode saying he doesn't want to be killed or die, forcing one of the cops to open fire on Lind after he tries to go for a gun of a nearby police officer trying to subdue him in place, struggling to take the firearm off him, thus pulling the trigger on Lind L. Tailor, but 7 days later that same cop that killed Lind by proxy ends up killing himself because of guilt. This of course would be a heavy blow to L as a result because it'll seem like his plan was botched at trying to lure Kira out of hiding since it didn't go how he thought it would go, placing doubt on L's plans and bringing into question his detective skills by police. The trail for finding out Kira would be completely thrown off, and not even consider the fact that the deaths could be manipulated in such a way, and it would still follow the rules of Death Note itself as it was written. It does however circumvent the rule about _"You cannot make another human kill another human"_ but you can if it's setup in the way of an accident, thats how you get around that rule.

Try doing it without the save transfer from CS3 and the event still plays out the same basic way with Rean trying to convince Alisa to give their relationship a chance. I love them. The hate will only make me ship them even more.

Even if he fell for it, he could have wrote down a time several weeks from then or gave a cause of death like car crash or stabbing or murdered by a cult member and the Kira killings blamed on them.

the funny thing is light could have completely avoided becoming a suspect and escaped L's net if he just stopped after falling for this trap and just waited a few years until he was no longer living with his parents and had a lot more freedom and privacy

Light was going to win but the author had to keep hitting him with the idiot ball. Kira was about punishing criminals. why would Kira kill police officers just doing their job? especially since Light's dad was a cop as well.

I love how he killed Riddler even though in the shows timeline Bane breaks Batmans back before Riddler shows up in the show.

L didn't have to tell him his plan and that his plan worked either.

It’s so crazy to me. He would rather be on his own son who he just found out, was alive after getting him killed by the way because let’s be honest. The reason Jason died was because of Batman then simply I don’t know paralyzing the joker or making him blind or mentally handicapped

The game would have just changed to be more subversive in nature. L's next step if this failed would have likely been to withhold info on criminals, in an attempt to either see if the killings stopped, or if "Kira" would start acting erratically.

I think Light had to be like that for the story to work out. His entire goal was based in narcissism so L challenging him like that was good bait because even if he predicted it was to draw him out, then he may have still killed him just to rub it in L's face.

My favorite part is undoubtedly that Thawne getting Iris preggers would be 100% in character.

I mean... He literally missed out one crucial part of the note for the whole story. "You can write down the name, date and how the person dies. If no reason is given then they die of hearthattack and if no time is given they die after the writing is done into the notebook." He could have done something like: The guy on the podium trips while walking down from there and breaks his neck. Done. Or anything really lol

Light and the deathnote were so op that he had to be given a weakness so that he couldn’t win immediately.

The thing about Death Note is, if Kira didn't fought against the police, he wouldn't have been caught, and wouldn't even been pursued since at that point the fact that Kira was a person wasn't proved. Light ideals would been successfully accomplished if he didn't had that stupid egocentric personality that apparently he doesn't have when he loses the memories of death note.

The thing about Deathnote that I don't think enough people realize is that Light is really not actually that smart. He gets good grades sure I'm not calling him an absolute moron or anything. But people act as if Light and L are these intellectual giants that are evenly matched for each other when they're really not. The thing is that Light has a *massive* advantage over L. It's like the two are playing chess, but L literally doesn't know what any of the pieces do until he can witness Light move one of them. Giving Light a constant advantage in tempo as he can theoretically always stay one step ahead. And if you look throughout the series he makes so many absolutely moronic decisions either due to his impulsiveness or his ego. Like killing Taylor is one thing, but there's other factors like how he only killed people within a certain time frame which is how L was able to deduce what time zone he was in and what age group he likely was even before the Lind L Taylor incident. And of course the moron then immediately changes up his schedule to killing people every hour on the hour as soon as he finds out the police know this information, which told L that A) Light has access to police records and B) that Kira can kill anyone at any time and so on. It's absolutely true that a smart user of the deathnote could basically get away scott free for years without even raising any alarm bells. That's implied to be what's happened with all the prior times a Deathnote falls into the human world. But Light was absolutely not a smart user of the deathnote. And I think that even if he restrained himself from killing the decoy, he already gave L a lot of information due to the patterns of his killings and would likely fall into many of the dozens of other pitfalls that he fell into in the main series. Maybe L would have to be a bit more underhanded, use some more subtle decoys, but L could absolutely still outplay Kira I think.
