16:32 Imagine if you're a college professor at Harvard, teaching a class for students going after a math degree, and a student raises their hand, points to the number 2, and asks what that funny symbol is. Do you think you'd believe they deserved to be in that program? Midoriya is going into this with control of his quirk on the same level of a five year old. I think you do need to take a moment to see this from Aizawa's point of view. UA has around a 2% acceptance rate. It's for the top heroes in the country. And it's not a normal school, these people have to be properly trained so they can save lives. They need to be the best of the best, and the assumption when applying is that you already have pretty great control of your quirk. It's not UA's job to teach people basic control. Aizawa has no idea that Midoriya just got his quirk. From his perspective, he sees someone who has had their quirk for around 11 years, and either has been too lazy to properly train it and gain control, or is just incapable of controlling it. He saw Midoriya break two legs and an arm, becoming pretty much useless on the battlefield after one hit. Something like that gets in the way, and would be a disadvantage for the heroes. If that was the case, him not having control after all this time, then it makes sense for Aizawa to say he doesn't have hero potential.

This might sound like I'm ragging on you. I'm not, I like your reaction, I'm gonna sub. My favorite moment of the festival is in the next episode, and I wanna see your take on it To get to my point, I get what you're saying about Midoria's mom, being too protective, but you're not really considering her perspective. You compare it to football, but that's pretty unbalanced. At least with sports, your son will be up against relatively equivalent opponents. Both in size and experience. That's a far cry from the situation Midoria is in, and just a reminder, she doesn't know anything about his quirk, or if she does, she likely assumes he's not well trained with it.(and she's right) So now it's more like if your son's first attempt at football was at a collegiate level. As if that's not worrisome enough, it's still not a fair comparison. At least in sports, there's refs and rules to make it safer. Midoria isn't at UA for sports. He's there to be a hero. One who will be up against criminals who have no rules to play by. Likely with quirks that pose an even bigger threat. Essentially, she's watching her 15 yr old son stepping onto a literal battlefield where everyone else has more advanced weapons, gear, and experience. For her, it's way more than just him struggling to take on a robot.
