How to spot fake Omega x Swatch from a long distance without genuine in the pocket | Checklist
I want to show some typical features of fakes without direct (face-to-face) comparison with the genuine watch. I have described a 15-item checklist that can disclose fake Omega x Swatch.
This is the second version of this video (with some audio and content fixes).
[ Bonus ] What is inside a fake watch (if it has the Chrono feature).
Please note that there are many fake types on the market so not all features could appear in the specific fake.
Official Omega X Swatch collection images and specifications are a good source to check how valid:
- dial,
- strap,
- crystal,
- watch case
should look like (colour & shape & details) in a particular model:

Universal Geneve watch restoration without spare parts - in my hobby workshop
Переглядів 168Рік тому
I bought a Swiss-made Universal Geneve with a missing watch case bezel. This is a watch restoration without spare parts - so I will need to create the right one. I used a copper ring made for tractors as a metal base for the ring :). I used a drill, sandpaper, and an electro-plating pen (for gold plating) to create a ring and repair this new watch. This is a watch enthusiast video with some non...

This is the first video of a 100% non-swiss vintage watch :) on this channel. It was 100% in-house made in Germany in the 70s by Junghans - Diehl company. Diehl was the owner of Junghans. This time I made a video about mechanical watch repair & restoration. This watch was made in 1975 is has the Junghans cal. 623.20 movement. Antique watch with IWC movement from 1916 - ticking sound & balance wheel - Marriage watch

The ticking sound of the IWC Schaffhausen movement (IWC 57). It was made in 1916. I repaired this movement in 2021. This is a so-called marriage watch (original movement and a combination of original and non-original parts). This is not a modern project. The watch case and dial are also old - from 1930 to 1950. The case has welded lugs. I think the dial was repainted (the sub-second at 9 indica...

Mine (2024 model) is all plastic, grey strap like yours but with dark grey face and black sub dials. The S etched in the crystal can only be seen with magnifying glass. The 2 o clock dial is a 24 hr indicator, battery cover comes off like the real ones but battery is not directly under it. I paid £18 from Ali express and am very happy with it, it’s good enough for me.

Mine works by touching those sorts of little pieces of paper but if I touch the glass in different places it doesn't work. What could be the problem? TNX

Vintage watches are mostly "simple" and solid this is why so many have lasted until our days , modern watches have higher quality , are more expensive have more complications, better finishing and better materials according to the statistics , but i seriously doubt it that they will last as long as the vintage watches made in the Past .

Good job in making this detailed teardown and repair, thank you for this. Due to this video I managed to repair my own identical T-Touch by adding tiny globs of silver-glue at spots corresponding to the 7 areas under the touchscreen where the elastomeric conductive strip makes contact. I assume that over time the elastomeric material shrinks and loses contact with the touchscreen. Thank you for making this video. For the record, the 7 contact areas are divided into 2 zones in the watch movement, one with 3 contacts, one with 4. From the -approx- 12 o'clock position working anti-clockwise are 1.Meteo 2.Alt 3.Centre 4.Temp 5.Chrono 6.Compass 7.Alarm.

Hello. I have a similar model with a diffrent problem.... Maby someone can give me an idea of the solution. I adjust the digital time, then synchronise the hands. Everything is ok for a while(for 2-3 hours i think), but at some point the hands(the minute one) remains behind(sometimes 5-6 minutes and sometimes 15-17 minutes or even more). Then I perform a new syncronisation and we start all over again. I replaced the battery with a new one but the problem is still there. Can anyone help me?

Please be careful using Isopropyl on the pallet fork and impulse jewel. It will dissolve the shellac that holds the stones. One Dip or Hexane would be best for those particular parts This guy does a good set of tests. ua-cam.com/video/x_6TulURYII/v-deo.html

Why does your altimeter keep showing different heights?

    • @404kWatches
      @404kWatches Рік тому

My solution to this issue can have some side effects. The silicone which I used can have different physical parameters which affect the measurement. I also adjusted (in the watch settings mode) the altimeter several times to fit the local altitude above sea level which is 75-100m. I made this video in two different places so 781m was also quite accurate. Also according to the specification, this can happen even when your watch is fully functional (because the temperature fluctuation affects the altimeter)

Hi, I recently bought one of these for spares or repair. I'm new to the hobby so don't have much experience. The main issue was the keyless works (I think that's what it's called). Once the stem was removed, it wouldn't click back in. There were a few other faults, including corrosion (the battery contact had suffered identical damage to the one covered in your blog - which was a great read by the way). The hour hand didn't turn either. The watch had apparently been left in a draw for 20+ years wrapped in a piece of sellotape to keep the case back on (it has been removed at some point and they couldn't put it back on). I somehow managed to get most of it fixed and working. (Still not exactly sure how - although it did involve lots of late nights and expletives 😁). But, the minute hand setting doesn't work. If I press the center of the crown in, there's no response from the minute hand. Would you be able to offer any advice on how to resolve this problem please? Other than that, everything else seems to be working fine now. Thanks.
