      Ya that's a kawi thing. But look at the cam tensioners in the twin cam engine. They go so does your engine. Bike is immediately a giant paperweight for life. I can't remember how long the twin cam lasted but if you have a twin cam you should look into that. I believe it's a not if but when, thing.

      @@TheDarkestOne ahhh shit it's all good. Mine is the single. But these bikes like all of em aren't bullet proof. Well..... I shouldn't say that, my DR650 was goddamn invincible. I kinda miss it, then I ride this and forget all about it. Every motorcycle has its thing. I really miss my Vulcan, I miss the DR. I can't wait to get another "woods" bike. They all break, but like anything in life, enjoy them when u have the time to enjoy them. Not a one ever used oil until ~70-80K and needed a upper end? 100°F rolling out 700-1000 mile days running a buck all day long on blacktop. Some puked a little oil in the air cleaner from time to time when run wide open all day. But never consumed oil? Good luck brother.

    You can use any brand of oil you prefer, a synthetic 20W-50 is recommended. Local H-D dealer even offers a few other brands of oil as an option. Not sure if youre being mislead or have unreliable data in front of you. Curious if you are checking oil level properly. Have a 2019 M8, rarely do I need to add oil, if at all. You may very well have an issue, but something sounds off here. Hope you get it sorted out. Safe travels to you.

    Whoa cowboy, read you manual or look it up. The oil that dry means it has gone down to the sump. Start you engine, let it run for about 30 sec. It will show up on the stick. If your unfamiliar with the bike, pull the plugs and start it for some cranks, listen for knocking. no knocking your good. Over filling will really mess up the engine. I have 116k miles on the bike and runs smooth.

    I run Amsoil in all my Harleys, I have never been told that I could only run HD Syn3 and I've been riding HDs since 2005. Syn 3 in an ok oil, but I tbink Amsoil or Lucas are superior oils. HD dealerships are required by HD to push HD products, that's why you find very few aftermarket products at dealerships.

  • @Cecil.
    @Cecil. Місяць тому

    You need to educate yourself before putting out a video. Harley does not use heavy diesel oil! 20W-50 syn is what it calls for. And any syn 20W-50 syn oil is good. Should run the bike a couple miles at least then check oil level. Harley is happy with oil half way up to full. If you keep it at full it will just push oil up the valve stems and back through the intake, which you don't want going back into the cylinders. I have a 2011 Electra Glide that just turned 155,000mi. I only put in a touch of oil at maybe 4500 mi, its getting changed at 5000

      Sorry to offend you guys seeing how you know so much about engines. I was just giving my comment to try to be helpful. Being a mechanic for the last 50 years, I guess I don’t know any better. Diesel oil is 15 W 40 so it won’t hurt the bike at all. Diesel oil is formulated different so the viscosity is going to change at a different rate than oil manufactured for a gas engine Thing is going to maybe lower your fuel mileage because it’ll make the engine work a little bit harder but other than that it’s not going to hurt anything. I was just trying to be helpful. Diesel oil has a DCA additive which helps with anti-cavitation which you don’t have a problem with in a gas engine. but what do I know?

    Greetings from the UK. Good vid, I went looking at a street bob last week and was so disappointed with the seating position. Im 6ft 3 and as soon as I sat on it I felt like it would be torture on my legs and back. 🤣I was a bit gutted as I love the look of the bike, but after seeing this it may be the game changer. I like the fact that it gets a decent pillion seat too as I take my lad out with me occasionally.
