A little bit of everything...!
ELM327 Mini Bluetooth OBDII gets paired but doesn't connect to Torque
Problem with ELM327 Mini Bluetooth OBDII which gets paired but doesn't connect to Torque app in any of 3 cellphones. The car I'm trying to scan is a Jeep Liberty 2005. I've already tried to use it in a 2001 Chevy Metro, 2006 Ford Focus and a 2003 Mazda Protégé with same results.

the device was working good....after updated my android system dosn't connect to ecu
dang , I have the exact same car and problem, wtf
My Device is showing all lights ON( Red, Green and Blue) and not connecting to ECU. Earlier only red light use to be on and other lights on when Bluetooth and ECU got connected. But now all the lights are ON withotut connection. Looks to me some fault in device now.
I bought one of these things around 2015, would connect to the app On my phone / tablet, but not any of the three vehicles I tried, which were: 2001 Ford Ranger, 1995 Lincoln Town Car, 2003 Chevy Malibu. I got a refund and bought a used Innova 3140 which worked fine and still use it. I liked the idea of the Bluetooth adapter, but didn’t trust buying another one. I just seen the one in a box in the basement and thought I’d look connection issues. The seller didn’t want it back and just refunded.
I have used most resources damnn won't connect to any Obds. I end up using usb vag cable from vcds. It works😀
Dont buy. Its a scam.
Solution to this problem:: ua-cam.com/video/Nt_W3aZbjGs/v-deo.html :: make sure you can select the correct obdii device in the adapter settings of the torgue app after you have paired with it.
Some cars you gotta go to settings, OBD2 Adapter Settings, Choose Bluetooth Device, and check the box for the one you got plugged in. Then any reader works just fine.
This thing was breaking my mind all day long, Speedbot was working as it should but Torque Pro wasn't.. After reading your post.., wow, it is working now). Thanks mate :)
ok
You are pairing the device in the phone but please check in the settings of the (torque mini) application and select manually the device in the application.
Please someone help me mine was not connecting in the ecu of my mitsubishi lancer 2009 model please help thank you
Had the exact same problem with my Samsung S7,tried all ways to connect it without any success.Tried iPhone,iPad and iPad Pro and it connects instantly to them all.
I had the same problem. Solved for me by using old Android (version 4.4) phone. Try it.
i have the same unit it worked only once, it pairs via wifi no problem but will not connect to ecu, tried it on 2 cars same thing the unit is a pile of crap, why work once then fail
For the record, I want to say something about this. I have the exact model elm327 Bluetooth shown in the video. It connects fine without any issues on my 2011 Infiniti G37. However, when I connect it to my 1999 Ford Explorer, it pairs with Bluetooth but it won't connect to torque. Might refer that something has to do with the protocol on the car not talking to torque correctly. Not sure what it could be.
I finally got mine to connect. I have a 2004 Tacoma and this scanner worked, barely, for about an hour. You need to monkey with the settings in the phone app, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
Did you find a fix? I don't care you have the same problem I'm having...
Same problem here,it's all about the cars protocol,no matter if the device is cheap or expensive if does not compatible with your ECU you can not do anything. Read the description of some HUD or On board Computer for example which are connected with ELM327 or with cable with your OBDII port: Attention: This OBD2 Car HUD are not compatible with following cars: - European and American cars manufactured before 2004 and Asian cars manufactured before 2008. - American cars produced before 2004 and all Dodge, JEEP, Sail, Chrysler cars. - France cars manufactured by FAT,DS,PEUGEOT,Citroen,Renault,Simka, Amirka - Japanese cars: Suzuki, Mazda, Infiniti (QX50, Q50, Q501), Toyota avanza 2013, Lexus (is250, ex250, ES300H), Honda (jazz, CRV) are not compatible. And all Japanese cars before 2008 are not compatiable. - Some models of Kia and Hyundai cannot use this OBD2 HUD (2013 Hyundai Sonata, 2017 Kia Soul PS, etc.) - Oil-electric hybrid and some diesel vehicles cannot use OBD2 HUD, GPS HUD are recommended. - Pickup Trucks and Modified ECU vehicles are not suitable for this HUD. I bought an expensive device and never manage to make it work so no Torque etc on my cell phone, sad but true guys...
From all researches, I fell it works for someone and not for others is the reason that this device only works for cars manufactured after Jan 2013. For cars manufactured before that, it power the obd, however it can't connect to the ecu... This experience I came to know cause I've cars before and after those mentioned years....
Works on my 2003 Accord
I have a different device that worked fine on 2 of my cars but not on my 2004 Chevy diesel truck, which naturally is the one which has the issues.
I have a wifi device that is running perfectly with my Opel Astra j but i can't connect it with my Chevrolet Matiz... I don't understand why :(
I bought one of these exact model and it worked fine for about 2 years. I lost that one and replaced it with a new one exact same thing. It doesn't work.
What type of firmware? 1.5 or 2.1?
I have obd2 the black one was working perfectly more than 5 years ...but when I used it last time ..I forget it a connect with the car and switch on for long time ..then I get same problem I thing its need to reprogramming again
Carlos...I bought 3 of these adapters for my two vehicles. Left one in each car and had the other in my garage for a spare. Same exact problem you're having with one important difference. One adapter did not work right out of the starting gate Drove me nuts because I thought I was doing something wrong. After about an hour of wasted time back pains and hair pulling I tried another one Guess what..It worked fine. Got my readouts and even did some mapping. Well...I guess I got a bad one shit happens! Then just yesterday Since I've been having gas cap problems turning on the light I plugged it back in after not using it for 6 months.. Same crap The damn thing just went bad no warning no use just went bad! It pairs but won't connect. That makes two now. Went to the garage put on that adapter. Worked fine! Looks like these things aren't built very well with a high failure rate. Try another one chances are it will work. It also should ask for a code which is either 1,2,3,4 or 0,0,0,0. If it doesn't ask It's probably a bad one.. Bottom line the're just built very cheaply and fail alot. They are cheaply made devices that fail for no reason..! e-bay sellers know this and if you contact them will 9 times out of ten send you another one. I don't think you can fix them so...just try getting another one. When it works it's a useful gadget. Don't let it drive you crazy, it's not our fault. They should be ashamed of themselves selling junk like that!
Same I'm on my 3rd one. 1st didn't work even came with da CD*. 2nd one work perfectly no instructions no CD. Weel 3rd busted
Go to my channel for watch how to read/clear car fault code by ELM 327 bluetooth
I faced too dat problem Subaru Impreza 2006 WRX. But my friends Nissan Liberty 2002 working fine. Am bought too Creader 3001. It's workings fine again my friends car but mine no. I wondering what happen?

ELM 327 NO WORK USE LESS ONLY PLASTIC EVERY BODY DO,NT WEST TIME FOR ELM 327
Try with a new elm327 it's broken.
The first eight minutes of this movie is what you have done yourself for a couple of weeks now: trying to connect which fails.. You came here to look for the solution bc the title of the movie kinda suggested you this and you were looking for that. Why make this movie anyway? It is not in the first eight minutes! (you =all the visitors of this video) don't know about the rest of the video. But check for the commands below. Looks after 13 minutes the answer is: dont buy the cheap version from china. There's no solution here. Next video about this topic.
FOUND THE SOLUTION,,, so you use torque the app,, and then if u cant connect it Is because your obd2 is loose and have to hold it a certain angle not use let it hang, you have to hold it with your hands and scan it
These things are garbage. Mine doesn't work either.
Not this particular model, but mine had same problem. One suggested fix was to force quit and restart torque (simply shutting the program will not work). Doing this TWICE worked for me.
Should add that it was a different car too so may not work on this one.
For one you need the car running

I bought the blue ELM327 mini and it works in my 2006 Toyota Matrix but in my 2001 Chev , the adapter does not connect to the ECU because the Chev uses the J1850 VPW protocol (through pin #2) and the #2 pin is not wired on the inside of the blue adapter so it can't support J1850 on many older north American vehicles. When using Torque Lite and Torque Pro, the car icon in the top right would keep flashing without the ECU connection. The Toyota and many Asian vehicles are wired to pins 7 ,11,12 and 15 and use a protocol supported by the Blue ELM327. ( ISO 9141, KWP2000 protocol). That probably explains why when using the ELM327 identifier app, it showed the adapter to be version 2.1 but also showed that many of the older versions were not fully supported (bars were green and red not fully green). For more info go to scantoolcenter.com/obd2-basic/which-obd-2-protocol-is-supported-by-your-vehicle/Puzzle solved.
I have some problem. I have a VW Golf 3 engine 1.6 8v 75HP and I bought an ELM 327 mini, but doesn t connect to Torque pro. or my phone. I tried : reconnect, annother phone and change settings but this shit doesn t work!!! What can I do ??!
so mine worked on my 03 audi a4 but doesnt work with my 02 gmc envoy... any suggestions?

anyone found a fix?
just spend $110 on ebay and buy a real scanner these don't connect to the app... the $15 one i bought connected to the toque lite but when my phone updated and i deleted the app it stopped working... i bought the $5 torque app ... these devices are a gimmick they don't work!
I just got mine and installed it on my laptop . Plugged the Elm327 Mini in my 04 Trailblazer. Laptop connects to the ODBII device, but will not connect to the ECU. This is the OBDII Mine Elm327 v2.1 that i have. If anyone knows what i am doing wrong i would love you advice. Please Help!
dude have you solved it already?
Tomass D. If the question was directed to me the answer is no. I got a faulty ELM unit. bad right out of the bag... :(
I have the same problem, but at least i paid 4 dollars for it.
scratch my last
i had this problem only with my samsung phone how i solved the issue was unpair all other devices on your phone and only leave the elm 327 paired this worked for me
What was issue ecu not connected or device mine one connected to device but give error ecu not connected my toyota corolla 2004 1.6
is not working
is not working
Just FYI, it's not necessarily the protocols, like some people keep yapping about. I have a $5 OBD BT adapter that looks just like the one in the video. It worked fine and cleared recurring error code a few different times... until it stopped connecting to ECU for no apparent reason. Still works in other car, but not the one with the error code.
exactly what happened to me. I don't get it.
I had the same problem but i got mine to work. in torgue go to settings > OBD2 Adapter Settings > Connection Type (select bluetooth) | > Choose Bluetooth Device > Select OBD2. It should work.
Thanks man! I finally got it working :).
You are my Hero ;)
Alphonso Henry dude you just solved my issue. I am going to buy a civic today and wanted this to check the code.
Alphonso Henry its still not working he is not responding
Bingo. You sir are a steely eyed missile man.
There is also a problem with Samsung phones and bluetooth for ELM
I had the same problem but i got mine to work. in torgue go to settings > OBD2 Adapter Settings > Connection Type (select bluetooth) | > Choose Bluetooth Device > Select OBD2. It should work.
yup, tried that, still didn't work. Torque gave a warning message about Samsung and Pandora app. I removed Pandora, which I don't use, but it still didn't work.
