We need is a vision for what is possible in a classroom. I'm committed to developing that vision.
Here are the resources for young engineers and designers as they learn how to create!
I teach the first Innovative Arts class (formerly technology class) in a public MN middle school. The goal is to help each kid become a creator of their own type. Resources are broken into six creator types: Engineer, Designer, Wordsmith, Coder, Entrepreneur, and Digital Creator.

Highlight of the year - The Creator's Expo!
Переглядів 293 місяці тому
The second ever Creator's Expo was a huge success! Each year it will get better and better. I did the best I could with the footage we collected on that day. These projects were made in Innovative Arts class by students who are developing their creative autonomy! I am developing www.puzzleshiftcreate.com to help other students and teachers have the creative experience that comes with Innovative...

Align and Mirror Practice for TinkerCAD - Classroom Display Version
Переглядів 814 місяці тому
These seem like minor tools to teach - but you need to practice them so you know them when they are needed. Students rarely discover and retain them, so I have my classes spend a day using these two tools. It kick starts some awesome projects!
Practice with the Duplicate button - Instructions AND display for TinkerCAD in Makerspaces
Переглядів 1034 місяці тому
The duplicate button is powerful! I rarely see students use it, so here is how I introduce it in my classroom. Once students get good at it, a whole new world of 3D possibilities and options open up. After the instructions, the rest of the video is to help students remember all the steps and get experience with the tool. TinkerCAD rocks!
Using springs in makerspace projects! - popsicle sticks and cardboard
Переглядів 2184 місяці тому
This video was a long time in the making. Thinking like an engineer is the goal and springs can teach you so much! This has NOT been a whole class project, just an individual student addition here and there. I am still deciding how to make this resource shorter and easier for students to watch. I typically overcomplicate things but eventually get to the simple idea. Let me know what you think! ...
Teach groups, holes and colors + practice! TinkerCAD Tutorial for middle school
Переглядів 3285 місяців тому
This is a challenge for concrete-thinking middle schoolers! Introducing the concept of a 'hole' or negative design in TinkerCAD takes time to digest, so this practice is a good challenge. I display this whole video on the third day of my Innovative Arts class is learning TinkerCAD. Lets make awesome creations together!
TinkerCAD Workplane/Cruise Classroom Instruction & Practice
Переглядів 2195 місяців тому
This is day two of our TinkerCAD practice series - where students learn the tools and practice actually creating with the basic shapes! 10 years into teaching TinkerCAD and I am noticing that more and more students are relying on the premade characters and items, without learning the basics of any of the tools or how to use them. This instruction series is my way of fighting back against this. ...

I like that the last 30 minutes of this video just shows repeated videos of the practice parts. I can just let it run in the classroom and students can refer to it at any time and be just a minute or so from seeing the steps for the part they are working on.
EXACTLY what I've been looking for! Thank you so much. Simple and ingenious. Great stuff!

What i want to know is if theres a size indicator in vynilmaster? And what knife should i use for heat transfer can you help me oit, please thank you...
When you are resizing something, I see a size indication near the curser. Use a blade with a shallower cutting blade (60 degrees) so it can make it all the way though the material. Hope this helps.

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for! This will go great for my popsicle stick house!
Thanks so much for this video, I've been wanting to make something like this with my son and I am so glad the internet allows good people like you to make specific instructions for stuff like this hope you're doing well mate.
Hello Do you say me how use paper for this another link or maybe sugessted? Thanks
Great way to start a class!
I hope your videos get popular and you will be recognized by everyone. I'm inspired by your work and determination. Thank you, sir<3.
Wow, thank you! There is A TON in the works in the next few years. I hope we can really change how kids experience school!
Thank you for this project, looks very fun! Love the idea that they get to improve upon the design. I want to do this with a homeschool co-op class. When you do this with the kids, do you build one along with them, or let them look at a finished design and try to recreate it?
The needles should come already adjusted I hate this machine dtf is winning
Hi there I have watched every video on your channel. Your videos are really nice, but your videos don't get many likes and comments and your channel subscribers aren't growing, because your videos are not search engine optimized (SEO). So if you want I will (SEO) your channel video and by doing (SEO) your video will reach everyone and everyone will watch it. As a result, your video will get likes and comments. And your channel subscribers will continue to grow. 100% I can guarantee to increase subscribers and video views on any UA-cam channel with my experience. Hope you saw my message and I look forward to your response. Thank you I am Mahfuj working as a digital marketer.
Hi thanks so much for your video's. I am a librarian and am just getting started with 3-D printers. I can't wait to check out more of your stuff!
There is a whole lot in the works!
This was a nice project bro. But there is no sound to this video please check it once. Thank you.
Fixed! Thanks for the comment! - ua-cam.com/video/13_sIN6ps1s/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for making these videos! You have no idea how much you have helped my kids with their school projects and understanding what to do and why. 😊
Thanks for the note - there are many more in the works!
I upgraded to this from a Silhouette Cameo. I have cut vinyl for almost 10 years. This machine has me exasperated. I have roller marks on my vinyl. I can't seem to fix that. Also, the test cut is perfect, but my designs are cutting weirdly. It looks like it's botched but it isn't. I used the text in the software to test before I cut something bigger and the lines are messed up. What version does this machine cut? SVG, DXF or something else?
Sorry that I cannot be helpful. Our machines are almost 10 years old and we are hoping to replace them soon, with a different brand
Thank you bro
Thx used it for school Thank you very much
Dude where do you get all these ideas from?
Hello friend, it is happening to me that when I change the blade and put it to cut, it goes through the 2 layers of the vinyl even though I have the pressure at 00g, eh I try to adjust the new blade with the silver screw but it does not move no matter how hard I push it Please, I would like to know if something similar has happened to you and if you have any solution
You need to get the blade all the way into the housing, such that you can BARELY see it before yoi staet trying. Your blade is sticking out too far. Loosen the big black housing so that the blade disappears down into it
thanks for the info. I teach at a public school in China and want to start a 3D printing club. I work for Creality also, so I'm glad to know the Ender is a good performer for you. This was informative.
Thanks for the effort in developping the many tinkering concepts! Seems accessible for middleschoolers, as a DIY hobbyist I will definitely try and develop the concept further with MDF/plywood and CNC machined parts, most certainly a polycarbonate transparent sheet on top. This video will definitely be a good headstart! Thx from Switzerland!
You're very welcome!
Thank you
Every helpful, thanks!
Wow very good project 🥰😍
Wow new Cardboard box 🥰
Abrupt ending to video. Other than that, it was good.

This is an excellent explanation and demonstration for students on the value of learning from your mistakes and continuing to work on a project until you are successful! The example used really told of how failures can turn into success.
