Perch Fishing - Lake Desire, Washington
Fishing for Yellow Perch on Lake Desire, Washington. We also targeted bass on hard lures and senko worms. Trout was also on list, but we didn't expect much during this time of the year. Once we got to the lake and felt the water temp. We knew trout was off the menu. We had 4 guys on two 12 ft aluminum boats with Minn Kota trolling motors. We trolled the entire lake and determined the south end had the most bite and stay there most of the time. From least effective to most: Crank baits, fake maggots, and fake worms. 1 inch section of real worm and trout magnets was arguably tied. Setup: We were all on light to ultraligth setups. 4-6 lbs line. Position the float about 2-4 ft from the swivel. Place a split shot lead weight above the swivel on the main line. The swivel will stop the split shot weight from sliding down to the hook during the cast. From the swivel we used 1 ft of 4 lbs line. Use a small hook or a trout magnet hook with your choice of bait. We kept the split shot weight close to the hook to sink the hook down. We found that with the weights up higher, we weren't getting as much bites. A trout magnet jig hooks is also weighted and can help with sinking the bait. In deeper water, we determined that we couldv'e used a bobber stopper on the main line with a sliding bobber. That way we could have sinked the bait down deeper. Weirdly, we were still getting bites when we were trolling with the float setup.

Trout Fishing - Green River, Washington
Переглядів 2,9 тис.3 роки тому
We went looking for Steelhead on the Green River. The backup plan was to do some trout fishing if we couldn't find any Steelhead. We drift floated trout magnets, used Blue Fox spinners, but had the most success with various colors of Rooster Tails. We used light and ultralight setups with 4-6 lbs line. We carried a 2nd rod with a heavier setup and rig for Steelhead. Just in case.

Fishing Shad at the Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River on the Oregon side. My setup was a 6ft Ugly Stik GX2 Medium Action spinning rod with 8lbs main line and 8lbs leader line (no problems). The rest of the group were using Medium/Heavy casting rods with 10lbs line. The Oregon side is slower flowing current and has less snags than the Washington side. Rig: Carolina rig - Sliding 1/3 or 1/4 oz...

A 235 60 17 probably with wheel spacers) would be a great size if it fits without rub and if you can find it I all terrain. This would be a "plus zero" size. I would absolutely NOT increase the wheel circumference on this vehicle due to the limited low range gearing. You'll have to lift , keep tire circumference and MAYBE increase tire width. If it were me , I'd get a more aggressive type of tire but keep the tire size , especially since the lifts go all the way to 4 inches for this one. Keep the tire size and maybe get a 2-3 inch lift. 2.5 inch lift would probably be perfect if you can find it.

These guys clearly don't know how to off road. I have a renegade TH and that speed bump would be no problem. Lower air pressure for loose sand and a little faster for more momentum. They probably don't have the right 4wd setting either. Amateurs.

Wow, I was just there today and the road has been renovated. Not nearly as rocky. I stopped driving at the second crossing -- judging the water too deep this time for my Crosstrek's 9" ground clearance, but watched a few Jeeps make it through. Continued on foot looking for the place where I turned back 3 years ago -- foot of the boulder climb -- and the boulders had been removed from the road. Kept going on foot to the monument. This is an amazing place.
