I just finished the book and I really liked it. I’d rate it 3.75 stars. I did not buy the whole Rune/Gideon love story, it just never landed for me. And yes, I thought Rune was going to be pregnant too when she mentioned her period not starting 😂. I’m definitely going to be reading the next book.

In one of my literature classes, monsters in literature were usually defined as something irregular that people would say “monster” because there were no other words to describe them. Like how The Phantom of the Opera was based on a real man with physical disfigurements that became a “monster” in the novel

Kennedy; Don't feel bad about jumping careers. I'm 32 soon to be 33 and my story is wild. I literally went to college for nursing, failed out of the program my first semester after finishing a whole year of pre-reqs. But I graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Science and tried to minor in Early Education (dropped that immediately). I went to school for Practical Nursing, completed that certification but I couldn't pass my NCLEX. So I went for IT Security and found out that computer programming is really hard 😅 So I dropped out after 1 year. Then I joined a union apprenticeship for 5 yrs. I'm now a union electrician and I'm going back to school for my Bachelor's in Occupational Safety & Health because now I'm a single mother raising an autistic little boy. I wanna be able to work from home to be able to spend more time with him. I wouldn't trade any of my experiences for anything in the world because I've learned so much about myself and motherhood.

Not everybody misunderstanding Azriel bonus chapter like do you understand Az’s character at all 😭 read between the lines I beg 🙏🏻 elain left the necklace bc she thought AZ rejected HER after she LED that interaction and he waited for permission ‘offer and permission’, she didn’t know Rhys summoned him and he was described as very clearly being both sad and moody after that whole thing, the boy put rocks in the snowballs he threw at Rhys 🤣 he isn’t some fboy that quickly tried to move onto the next gal, like he stayed up at night for a whole year only staring at Elain’s gift for him. Boy is sweet as anything, especially being a mummy’s boy you know 🥹 he wasn’t being entitled when he said 3 brothers 3 sisters, he was airing a thought he’d had in what he felt was going to be a safe space to do so, until Rhysand uncharacteristically misunderstood what he was really saying. These people believe wholly in the cauldron, fate, their religion… of course he wondered if fate had meant it to be 3 bros 3 sisters had he not been about to die that night. Poor boy no wonder he doesn’t talk much😂😅

I have the cutest connect I found between both books. When he says do you remember when I kissed your thumb if you go back to that scene where he does he is drunk but says darling I couldn’t forget this - which means he definitely didn’t forget and also the first thumb kiss was a tipsy natural instinct 🥹

I don’t know I just thought of this but, what if the reason we got Lenny pov chapter is because he is pae real father 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wanted a bathtub scene. They were chained together. Him sitting in the bathroom while she took a bath or if he washed her hair or something would have been perfect😩

This book gave me major filler vibes. Filler, in my opinion, is when it’s unnecessary and doesn’t advance the plot. Which majority of this book did not. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy it near as much as I expected. But still love hearing your thoughts!

The one thing I could not get past was the fact that her outfit was SO UGLY the whole time once she got the skirt, trying to imagine a big long yellow skirt with a olive green vest with pockets all over I’m imagining a green fishers vest was so distracting it was all I could think about the second half of the book

I mentioned about how books shouldn’t get special editions until their finished bc currently I have the inheritance games B&N special edition and the rest are normal 😭😭

I love hardcovers way more than paperbacks, I do still like paperbacks but hardcovers are easier to read for me without wrecking them. I always take the dust jacket off, it’s so satisfying to put it back on when you’re finished the book!

I think Marty was the guy sleeping with Shelby because Cassandra mentioned that he doesn’t always put his wedding ring back on when he comes home and in the beginning Shelby mentions the guy always taking off his wedding ring and putting it on his dashboard. (Sorry if names are misspelled I listened to it lol)

I was the one who wrote in about how audiobooks ruin the book for me -- why do I feel starstruck right now lol I just want to elaborate some more: I feel like all the book narrators use the same tone and cadence when reading that is not natural to how people actually talk or think.. if that makes sense. It almost projects a whole different personality onto the character than how they’re being portrayed in the book. Also when the voice actors put a lot of emotion into their reading it usually is too cringey for me personally and I’m pulled out of the story. But that’s a me problem I think 😂 and don’t even get me started when they make their voice lower or higher to talk in the opposite gender 😭 ANYWAYS, you guys are my favorite book girlies! 🥰 🫶🏻

Love Kennedy's comment about the subjectivity of reading. In my book club we have read great books and not so great books, but no matter what we always find a way to have amazing discussions about them! Which is the entire point of being in a book community in my opinion!

Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love is one of the best rom-coms I’ve ever read and one of my favorite fanfiction besides Manacled. You should give that one a try!
