could it be used as a front passenger seat seat?
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately the Altair is not manufactured as, nor safety tested as a front seat.
@@mikemurgatroyd9077 thanks
Cool 😎 chair
Definitely not paying 3-4k…to expensive
Where can I buy it in USA?
check out www.vanevolve.com for more information and then inquire as to what we currently have in stock in your desired configuration by emailing info@vanevolve.com
Is this now available and legal in California?
As of summer '22, the Pro Floor is currently unavailable with no ETA for launch. When the Pro Floor is ready to launch, we will update the website and publicize details. Thanks for your interest!
No, it can only recline when in bed mode.
While still in the seated position can you recline the back at all?
I would love to see more single seat beds on YT!
Good idea. We'll try to get one up in about a month.
Can anyone tell me why no one designs a car front seat that converts for sleeping?
Did you ever get an answer to this?
Does the seat come any wider?
Hi, yes it does, it comes in several size options: 3-belt (150cm, 129cm or 120cm wide); 2-belt (120cm, 112cm, 94cm or 86cm); 1-belt (60cm). We stock many of these sizes.
Why can't this go in the front row as a bench seat? Anyway if I buy it I can put it wherever I want.
Its too expensive for what it does. Reimo seat has storage capacity, nice table and you can move it all the way up or all the way back which is much more useful. I don't like that hard metal piece on the right hand side as I can see kids or adults hitting their knees on that at night. Even the 23 year old design of the VW MV camper 3rd row bench seat would have been a better choice than this and if you can duplicate that, I would buy that in a heart beat. Sorry to be harsh your demo but this is based on my 40 years of experience driving many B class RV's in US and Europe.
Thanks for your feedback. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion. In our experience selling seat beds and having been around different models worldwide, the Scopema Altair is the best on the market in terms of long term reliability, fit and finish, and basic function. That is why we are working with them, so we can work with the best.
Would love this in my 1999 suburban.
Where can I buy this?

Hi David, thanks for your interest! Kindly contact info@vanevolve.com or go to www.vanevolve.com for more details.
$4800 for this seat I think is to much. Your even charging $3000 for a single seat. I love the concept but not worth the price IMHO
Agree with you on that price, that’s not including installation too.
Great demo. Could these be installed as front seats?
Hi Lewis, thanks for the question. Unfortunately, the Altair seat bed is not designed to be used as a front seat in an operable vehicle.
@@vanevolve8319 How come? It seems like it would be a good way to maximise use of the dead space created by the front driver's seats.
@@lewiswilson1714 They are not designed or safety tested as front seats at this time. In addition, front seats feature integrated sensors, for ex., the air bag sensor.
I have one in my van. Be aware they are so hard, it's like sleeping on Concrete!
We only sell the Altair seat bed with the optional integrated 3D mattress overlay. Which means the sleeping side on all of our seat beds is definitely well padded. That said, like all seat beds, the bed is on the firmer side of the spectrum for seat integrity. For clients who like to sleep on softer beds, we recommend using a topper.
Does it recline at all in the seated position? Just for a more relaxed ride
@@Exemptfromeverything Hi, NO, the seat is unajustable for reclining when in the upright position . When in bed position you can raise the rear section to make a comfortable lounge sofa, but in that position the seat belts are un usable. I have now purchased a memory foam topper and this has transformed the bed. Only downside is it takes up a lot of valuable storage space when not in use!
How many ratcheting positions does the backrest have? I want my head to be slightly inclined when I sleep because of acid reflux. The leg (bottom)section can also ratchet in multiple inclines so I could recline and face the rear of the van?
Hi Kyle, we count over 20 ratchet positions just to get to a level sleeping position with the floor, then you can ratchet further as you move down. Yes, you can tilt the front-most section up and the rear-most section down to recline facing the rear--we like your style!
@@vanevolve8319 Thank you for getting back to me. Do you know roughly how much the 86cm version weighs? I am trying to figure out weight distribution/balancing.

By far the best demonstration of a RIB bed I've seen!
Stealth!
So there's a flaw in the mechanism so I'll wait and buy One when you've sorted that out
Hi AJFC, there is no flaw in the Scopema Altair mechanism. The Scopema Altair seat bed has been on the worldwide market for years with the same time tested design and Scopema has been making camping seats since the 1980's. Are you referring to a different brand of seat perhaps? A newer brand? At any rate, feel free to email info@vanevolve.com to discuss your concerns.
The Scopema Altair Seat Bed has featured the same core design worldwide for years and has an impeccable reputation. There is no flaw in the mechanism that we have experienced or heard about from any client, upfitter, country, or the manufacturer themselves. In addition, Scopema has been making highly regarded seats and seat beds since the 1980's. We have heard that some seat beds on the market may have issues, but those were definitely not Scopema brand seats beds.
@@mikemurgatroyd9077 so what are your engineers looking into In minute 52 seconds of your utube commercial
The engineers are working on a way to have the seat anchored on their track system, currently it is bolted through. No flaw.
is it comfortable to sit and sleep in it?
In our opinion, the Altair seat bed is the most comfortable seat bed on the market. That said, sleeping preferences do vary. Also, seat heights may vary to clear the various wheel wells, so pay attention to what seat height is comfortable to you. That said, you can always use a foot rest if you needed (and make it utilitarian by adding storage, etc.).
In the bed position, they are Rock hard. Very uncomfortable.

@@vanevolve8319 I thought of using a mattress topper, but as you know space in a van is very limited. They are bulky and heavy. There is no reason why they couldn't have made the bed side of the seat softer during manufacture. It wouldn't compromise seat comfort or safety. Poor design.

Would the swivel seat bed in 3 person width align with the front seats?
The 3-person seat comes in 129cm or 150cm widths, so it depends on what van you have, which will have a width outside edge to outside edge of it's front seats.
This is genius! Makes me think hard about ordering a non extended transit to save the length and still have sleeping for the three of us.
We hope to be ordering ours in the very near future!
