Happy 111th Birthday, Bill Finger (time lapse drawing)
Happy 111th birthday to Bill Finger, the co-creator of Batman. For decades, he was publicly denied his contribution to The Dark Knight, as Bob Kane took all the credit. In 1974, the former died in obscurity and poverty, while the Batman brand and Kane amassed international fame and wealth.
In 2015, with the help of biographer Marc Nobleman and Finger's granddaughter Athena Finger, DC Comics officially recognised Bill Finger as the co-creator of the Batman characters and mythos. It was a long time coming, but we Batman fans couldn't be any happier for him to get the recognition he deserves (except for that one jerk on UA-cam who, despite me providing all the facts and evidence, refused to believe that Bill Finger had any involvement and that Bob Kane was the one and only true creator of "Bat-Man." He assured me that his findings were correct even though they had been debunked long ago, making his evidence extremely outdated and irrelevant. I'm pretty sure he still hasn't seen the 2017 Batman & Bill documentary and continues to live in his Bob Kane bubble to this day).
Anyway, thank you Bill Finger for your magnificent contribution to pop culture. As DC artist and editor Carmine Infantino once said, "he is the Batman. Bill was. Everything you would think that's good, that's Bill."
