    It's why I'm not very competitive. Winning always leaves me with that 'Okay, so what?' feeling. I get a lot more satisfaction from accomplishing things with people rather than against them.

    I haven’t been to REI in decades. I think they used to require (or at least push) a membership, so I stopped going. But the equipment and service were good. The last bike shop I really dealt with was Colonel’s in Fort Worth, TX, and absolutely disliked them. I bought a mountain bike; but a few months later, I went in for the free tune-up and I overheard two of their employees in the back laughing about me. So I never went back. Which reminds me: I should go on social media and throw them under the bus-for old time’s sake.

  • @johnbeck2170

    Most bike shops I’ve ever dealt with are arrogant snobs that barely give you the time of day; charge a fortune for bikes, parts, and service; and overall, are unpleasant experiences for customers. I do everything myself now, and, I buy used bikes only. DO NOT deal with bike shops if you don’t already have a good connection. If you’re buying dedicated triathlon gear, just order it online or go to a big-city hub store that everyone likes. Do whatever you want. That’s my take. What do you think, trolls?

    • @StupidQuestionsSethHill
      @StupidQuestionsSethHill 5 місяців тому

      I have to say, most bike shops I have used do seem to overprice. REI seems to have the best bang for buck when it comes to getting complicated stuff done on my MTB, but not sure about tri bikes...
