​@@nanojoel The original comment was a joke but AI at its current stage isn't anywhere near fully replacing most professions but I believe we are currently crossing the Rubicon. Unless by some miracle we get together as one and set some boundaries we're setting ourselves up for obsoleiness. But this kind of complete obsoleiness isn't possible at our current stage of development since "AI" is essentially a very fine-tuned database of all our knowledge, it's not making any "new" information.

@@MrZucchini do you think this database has the potential to expand to be used be certain people to control information way more than using the internet

@@nanojoel There is no doubt that there will be a constant battle over who controls the information and AI and this database I mentioned will play a part in it whether it's physically how you interact with the world and each other or digitally. Anyway, I would love to discuss this more with you tomorrow but I unfortunately have school and work in the morning. (let's hope AI can't put me out of the job at Jersey Mike's just yet haha) Have a good one.

@@nanojoel yes sir, I'M referrINg to Traditional hand dRaWings As an artist myself I can see the writing on the wall. Especially the fact that "modern" art is. The liberal art has been shooting itself in the foot for decades now. The only "compromise" I see that would still be practical with AI, is to design the Characters myself once, in order to have the human touch, then use the AI to do whatever I need the characters to do in minutes. Giving me full creative control, though artists are hellbent to say otherwise.

Could it be argued that creativity using AI is innovative and more creative for reasons that you can type into existence your thoughts and is a way to express yourself as an artist better?

@@nanojoel I believe that you are right to a certain extent. Ai being integrated into the film industry is inevitable, but I don't think it will completely replace human beings. There is something distinctly human about an original piece that an ai can replicate, but cannot put any emotional resonance behind, which is why people go to the movies: to feel more connected and empathize with the experiences of other human beings. The reason why Disney's latest animated feature received such horrible reviews despite the beautiful animation, was because the audience could sense the lack of creativity and soul in the script despite the beautiful animation.

@@fishstix1037 I agree that is exactly my point, that filmmaking is slowly becoming less human and subsequently humans are becoming less human with integration of technology. How long do you think it would take to completely remove those emotions from us and replace everything with ai?

@@nanojoel To be quite honest I think this will never happen. Yes ai will eventually be integrated with everyday society and will replace some jobs, but it can’t and won’t replace human beings. I can see it being used as a tool to enhance art, not fully create it. Like the generations of creatives who came before us, we must utilize the technology and publicity through social media. Although it may not seem like it, people are sick of social media: the doom scrolling caused by the algorithms , self comparison, and constant ads. I genuinely believe that people are beginning to wake up and start paying attention to films, audiences are becoming smarter. Gone are the days that studios can just give us a crappy remake or sequel and call it cinema, with gems like: Ladybird, All of us Strangers, or Moonlight being released. The people are craving creativity and real human connection, and that is exactly what this new generation of directors, cinematographers, and screenwriters will bring to the table. We are on the brink of a new renaissance for film making with the help of ai and social media.

@@fishstix1037 I believe that what you said is a more optimistic scenario. With open ai’s Sora soon people will not know what is ai and what is not ai. This aspect of ai can be used for creativity but it will still lack humanity if a director starts resurrecting actors. Personally old films have characteristics that do not exist in today’s society. Most films are made with a basic script about some emotional art house idea or a remake of an already successful film. In terms of original films there is a huge lack of funding and advertising because they are inherently a risk to the industry. Films like Mandy by Panos Cismatos are a grate example.
