Black Perl , Malta falcon. Hord
The plan for solar generation from PV sails was - for reasons no one has ever disclosed - not successful. It’s a pity the boat has been tied up in divorce and then probate litigation for most of its existence, I’m assuming the money tap required for the R&D / integration got turned off. She has now finally made a transatlantic - but even tho it was a “short” crossing, not actually continent to continent, she still drank 30k litres of diesel. Which for a sailing yacht is a bloody abomination.
I Love You ❤️
Can we see it in blue or red maybe? Black just shows all the dirt and scratches... lame.
Wow, what an enormous waste of money and resources..
I have a 12 feet fishing kayak, without motor, and dont envi this owner. Sorry
We Dutch only can build this. You Pulter and his circle steal money from normal people to build stuff like this with bloodmoney. 🤢🤢
incredible
is it better than the falcon? more boats like this... yes!
4:11 -- The ship without masts. I think it looks much better. Under sail something is not right: there is far too little sail area to attain speed. This square-rigged design lacks the flexibility to make its overlapping silos to work together to make the ship's speed greater than that of the wind pushing it. The fastest of all commercial sailing ships, the windjammers from the late 19th century, are four-masted, square rigged barques that used this mechanical advantage to cross the Atlantic in record time. Check out some videos of windjammers and you'll see what I mean. Then compare those windjammers with this schooner. There IS no comparison because this is a wannabe sailing ship that would be helpless without its engines. Trying to greenwash the thing, a crewman claims regeneration capability from the props when the engines are shut down. Good luck with that. The ship can barely make headway with a brisk tailwind. On one of the helicopter videos you can see the sails luffing -- sailing's version of stalling a car engine. That earlier shot of this ship without masts reveals its streamlined beauty. The faux sails enable the owner to claim net zero pollution crossing the Atlantic. And yet its speed under sail is about walking speed. The sails and their operational hardware must have added tons of weight and millions of dollars, all for the purpose of validating the lie that this ship is carbon neutral. It isn't by a long shot, and incurring all that expense in order to make a false claim says a lot about the ship's owner and builders.
amazing
By the way, I also developed a sailboat. Only much more high-tech and conceptually much more modern. I wanted to know, are there pontoons or hydrofoils? I looked again and there are no hydrofoils. I look on the Internet and see that no one has progressive ideas, neither in cars, aviation, in shipbuilding, the last thing that was interesting was Zimvolt, nor in rocket science, Starship steam rocket with a design from the 40s of the 20th century, Wernher von Braun even had a more interesting design in 40 years when he wanted to launch the first astronaut. There you have it, just a high-quality sailboat, a Rolls-Royce yacht and that’s it.
Stunning
Best sailing yacht ever with a striking design and beautiful use of tech. A true masterpiece
Based on sail shape, it looks like it can really only sail downwind or a a beam/broad reach which would greatly diminish its overall performance as a sailor.
Amazing green wash for everything now. Energy and materials that go into making and running this expensive floating junk heap will never come close to being covered by regen, but it will surely sell it to the hypocrite crowd.
this type of one off sailboat always hard to make it happen ,a design on the paper turn to the actual real thing , absolutely crazy , put money aside , in engineering stand point , you never know is really work and functional like the designers intended, so easy to missing the target ,in terms of performance , im very interesting to know is they totally match the expectations ?? or way off the engineering team performance targets , its a private owner boat i guess , 8 years later , want to know is any new information about this sail boat , something like maintenance and need a big crews to operate kind of stuffs . one thing i doubt is they said sailing cross atlantic ocean ,with out any diesel or gas generator , but if they really did it just by wind sailing and solar , thats extremely impressive.
transatlantic no fuel use? columbus would be proud, probably
Teşekkürler elinize sağlık muhteşem
This is one of those things you don't really want to have or maintain, but you can look admire and appreciate the engineering and execution of it all
Perfect ship! Looks simple and strong.🌏
No gun deck? How am i gonna fend of freebooters from taking my spices and gold?
Great night shots of Rotterdam. The Black Pearl is a big coup for the Dutch shipbuilding ecosystem. Look out Germany and Italy.
How dare you stand where he stood Cool ship btw
it's cool, I didn't want to see inside it anyways...
The no sail zone has left the chat
eh biar betul ni ku cubit paha kiri kurasa sakit betullah blackpearl dijuallah wow idaman hati
I'll give you "big," but "beautiful?" ...I dunno.
AMAZING JUST WORK OF ART AND SKILLS...BRAVO
I don’t see it able to fulfill its purpose ?
The most beautiful chinese junk ever.

Why are pirates called pirates? Because they Arrrrrrghh! The Black Pearl is beyond beautiful
Why are there so many poor people suffering when oligarchs have toys like this?
Define hubris (see above)
I crewed on a 126' O.A.L. schooner built in Gloucester MA in 1924 back in the 70's. About 85% of the time was restoration getting her shipshape. I learned a WHOLE LOT about ropes, knots, splicing, stays, shrouds and general overall rigging. Looks like none of that knowledge would apply on this vessel! (accept for maybe mooring) That's one of the most remarkable things about this vessel. There's NO rigging of any kind that I can see! Not even any stays or shrouds!
where is a box of the deadman ?
Please show her sailing in 40knots of breeze
I'm a somali pirate...and I really really like the fine craftmanship.
NOPE... the hull looks amazing but do something with those brutal looking sails, (it's like wearing a down filled parka over a sleek evening gown.)
Music wtf
I have nothing less than maximum respect for the engineers. Tips hat.
looks insane
