Pennsylvania SNOWMOBILING - Early Season 2025
Tim's first time on a snowmobile (he's wearing the GoPro). Early season riding, not much snow but a ton of fun! From our cabin West of Haneyville, PA to Hyner View vista. Did about 50 miles before it all melted.

    Maybe a silly question, but wouldn’t that big diesel snow cat yank her right out?

    Takes how many old guys to get one old sled unstuck? 🤣 I say in jest, I'm getting on to old too. Can't lift the old RMK like I did just a couple of years a go!

    Day grooming is such a waste of time and money! It looks good but it wont hold up!

      HI. Pete. I groom for town of Webb Old Forge, We run two shifts day and night. I was out grooming Just before the warm rain came and destroyed our hard work, Like you wondering why I should risk braking things to groom that thin stuff just before the rain. Up the trail comes , Dad out in front His son right behind with his son in his mahawk helmet, his sister behind him and mom in the rear, I thought then, Thats why we do it, Keep the family safe and a nice ride.

      I have groomed in central ny for about 20 years,I figured out the science of grooming,how the aggitationof the snow and water content creates the perfect ribbon,one that would stand up to busy weekends. We only get paid of we groom,we struggle for members and volunteers,most only join to discount their registration Its the same for alot of clubs arounf here,200 to 300 members and its all put together by the same 5 guys. I was the only groomer for like 4 seasons,I went out 4 nights a week,leave at midnight,get home at 6am,but the trails were epic.Not to mention,I did it in a 1971 Bonbardier ski -dozer! With a MM copy 8x16 drag!

      The video is sped up 1.5x. We were going less than 55 most of the time. Those older sleds don’t have the suspension to handle the bumps very well.

      I knew it was only a matter of time. Most guys are quick to help, maybe even look forward to an opportunity. I was just surprised it took so many guys to get it out, ha. That ski was stuuuuck

    If u never crashed ur not riding hard enough lol!! Ur ok that’s all that matters and nobody else was injured. Looks like ur sled was darting bad check ur ski alignment and maybe a good pair of duel runners.

    • @nate_kaiser
      @nate_kaiser Місяць тому

      Definitely! And definitely needed an alignment after that haha. I’m about to get the sled out for the season and give it a once over. Duel runners cost as much as the sled lol

    we have all been there... love all the people that always help,. here is a little trick roll it over, with that much snow you could have two people just roll it 360 degrees.. not only do you have a fun story you have it on film... Awesome

      100% glad to have the memory. My back still hurts haha. It’s hard to see in the video but the biggest challenge was the ski was wedged in a skinny rocky waterway. It was tough to get the weight off of it. If the sled would have kept going forward it risked a bigger headache. Ah well, we got her!

  • @jakekohtala3032
    @jakekohtala3032 2 місяці тому

    Does that sled not have any carbides in the skis or what?

    • @nate_kaiser
      @nate_kaiser 2 місяці тому

      It had fresh ones lol. I think he just hit the corner a little fast and the soft snow just sucked him in. It’s hard to see in the video but the waterway got pretty steep and narrow towards the front of the sled, it would have been hard to throttle out of. The ski was wedged in a crack below the snow
